I think its due for a change right? first time changing moto tyre, dunno which to get for size 160
as for the front uneven thread wear, any idea why is it only one sided? from the looks of it i turn alot more on one side.  confused.gif

yeah I think you should change it.
just look for pirelli or michelin good already

do the uneven wear happen on the front tire too?
if only rear tire then might be not aligned properly
if both tire uneven might be how you ride the bike or load it like heavier bag on one side
or yeah maybe its just the road you simply took every day laugh.gif

Triumph Penang always have the speed twin 900 for testing.
Nice bike with boatload of torque. Don't need to shift above 3rd gear for normal riding.

Penang eh? Funny I was at Triumph OJ just earlier today asking to test ride this bike, but no joy since they don't have one as a demo bike. Fastbikes last time never had one either since they've been selling this model as fast as they could uncrate them.

Need to compare this against the Z900RS.

Did quite a few round on the z900rs before.

I'd pick the speed twin 900 over the z900rs anytime. The 270 crank and the torque made the triumph easier to ride. The z900rs feels like an angrier bike compared to the more laid back Triumph.

triumph feels more 'premium' i'd say.. not saying z900 rs is bad its just triumph has a little extra on their bike
but price wise z900 rs win haha

No actually. Wife told me when she test rode the Z900RS, it costs RM59k. The Speed Twin is actually RM3k less if you don't pick the fancier paintjobs. A key area where it really loses out to the Z900RS is tank range, no thanks to that puny 12l tank.

As a new rider, she has never owned anything with more than 2 cylinders... so she was quite taken in by the sound of it.

if want to get the Speed twin, invest in the Bottom Plate cover from Scrambler 1200...

Since the oil filter location is prone to road debris..

According to my wife, that's the price quoted by the Chear Motor guys when they organised the test ride session at UiTM Shah Alam earlier this year.

Try and find out lor. But i think sand wont work thouh.

The logic of using a balancer is to counter the harmonics of the vibration, so it works best at the end of the bars, where vibrations are most pronounced. On my bike, even with the new balancers, the vibration is still very apparent, but it has moved a few inches out, so the area closest to the levers have smoothened out a bit. However if you put your hand on the bar ends, they vibrate a lot.
*
true, in any object, when there are vibration, the edges (or region furthest away from vibration source) largely gets the brunt of it. Hence the idea of a handle balancer, is to extend that edge(grip point), offloading the vibration from the grip, the the balancers. Longer balancers takes away more vibration from the grip region itself, heavier balancer helps offsetting more overall vibration through the handlebars.

just an update, picture shown of uneven thread wear is on the front tyre, rear tyre its fine.
went to change a set of tyres and asked the mechanic why the wear is one sided, he told me its due to a single disc brake at the front therefore the wear is more on one side, if its dual disc brake the wear will be even.
Is there such a thing?

he recommended pirelli rosso 3, front 110/70R17 back 150/60/r17
rm 680,
