depends on usage
i sold all my bike before it reach 100K km so i never do any major replacement
but i have friends who need to change the oil seal cbr 1000rr always wheelie his bike
*
I serviced mine at 30000km

Not because of leak or issues.
Just serviced it, since I'm using the bike daily.
Clean the internals and changed the fork oil only.
Felt nicer, just like new.

just an update, picture shown of uneven thread wear is on the front tyre, rear tyre its fine.
went to change a set of tyres and asked the mechanic why the wear is  one sided, he told me its due to a single disc brake at the front therefore the wear is more on one side, if its dual disc brake the wear will be even.
Is there such a thing?

he recommended pirelli rosso 3, front 110/70R17 back 150/60/r17
rm 680,

Really?

You might want to find a better mechanic....lolz.

I've gone through 3 fronts on my single disc Dominar in the 2.5 years I had it. They all wear evenly...or in my case, wear unevenly consistently.... Due to the corsa cross x knobbly ish thread.

Unless you really do lefts more aggressively all the time, it seems to be a fork problem, steering cone bearing or your rear is misaligned. Does the bike track straight with no hands on the handlebar? You you sit straight and centre on the bike? I know someone that sits slightly off, basically counter leaning on one side all the time.

Both my front and back wears more to the left, as I tend to take lefts more aggressively...which is normal for our right hand drive roads.

I wonder how many of you service the fork ?

I had mine service on the 3rd year of usage.
*
I serviced the forks of my versys at 12k km mileage...coz it was leaking...10yo bike n only has 12k mileage so seals keras n leaked.

Z9 is at 63k km...never done.

Im probably gonna treat the forks as "if it aint broke, dont fix it" hahahha

The fork oil., just like any other oil will degrade after certain mileage.

Even my mountain bike suspension fork and the rear shocks require to change the oil. After service and change oil, feels and work like new.

there are internal bushing and sliding motions that depends on the oil to last longer
maybe it's like "don't service it, it will break"

yeah.
need to make sure the function of the absorbers/fork is in good condition.
it's all about rebound and compression rate. wearing out the fluid will surely make these two not working as it should be.

what's the stock oil weight? 2.5wt? 5wt? for our climate should go at least 1 step up
