I recall the front is fully adjustable, plus it works with radial calipers

To those that change engine oil on their own, where do you dispose the used engine oil?

Also how trustable the cheaper priced engine oil at shopee? For example motul 7100 at workshop around RM 70 but somehow shopee got seller at RM 50? ohmy.gif

Collect it n just go to any car or bike workshop n say u wanna throw oil..they will accept. If they wanna charge u, find another workshop

Shopee?.do not trust unless.its a known reputable dealer. Motul.is one of the most faked brands.out there. Id suggest getting engine oils direct from petrol station instead. Shell has been the one ive been using.

Same thing with oil.filters too. There r fakes so only get from reputable dealer

I wonder how many of you service the fork ?

I had mine service on the 3rd year of usage.
*
service yearly since using cheap yamalube/apido fork oil

QUOTE(alexei @ Nov 27 2023, 07:47 AM)
there are internal bushing and sliding motions that depends on the oil to last longer
maybe it's like "don't service it, it will break"

yup. my fork the chrome faded off at the portion where it slides with the bushings. back then only service once leaked. after found out the condition i service yearly

i use the used oil as chain lube

using f700 bought at rm16 (rm44 at petrol station, rm32 at 99)
logically it's fake but my clutch still not slipping
and how come 99 can sell cheaper than petrol station?
it's like u go and buy fish directly from fishermen but it's still more expensive than buying through agents

Bois....TPMS.. which one u guys using?

I have this: https://shp.ee/myp7gd8

Its a wired version. Only one i can see thats wired version. Good features with voltmeter n usb port. Works ok but waterproofing is absolute shit...n its dead already.

Those solar ones look bleh with the solar panel n the ones with the rechargeable battery...how long does the battery last?

N how good is the waterproofing?

Share the ones u guys using n ur thoughts on them pls?

I just bought this tpms + dashcam to replace the hp m550.

https://shp.ee/x4z47j5

Disappointed in the quality of the m550, the lens coating deteriorates very quickly and even with a clean lens the image is bad.

Hopefully I can find time to install it as soon as possible once it arrives 😂

Triumph Penang always have the speed twin 900 for testing.
Nice bike with boatload of torque. Don't need to shift above 3rd gear for normal riding.
*
Last Wednesday I went test rode the speed twin 1200, royal enfield interceptor 650 and super meteor 650. Man the speed twin 1200 is smaller than I expected and so much fun to ride in town. The handlebars feels quite short and ciloking through traffic is so fun with that bike. The bike is so flickable too. Coming from a sports bike, the engine feels kinda lazy but I guess that's just how these kind of bikes are. The engine feels like it could benefit from 1000-2000rpm higher red line as the power still feels like it's rising at the top end. Suspension feels decent but it's a shame it's not fully adjustable. Factory exhaust is decently loud as well and I don't think you'd need to upgrade it.

And right after testing the triumph, I tested the interceptor 650. The suspension on the interceptor definitely feels budget. The damping rate of the front and rear does not match imo. The engine somehow feels wider than the triumph and the whole bike generally feels slightly larger and heavier than the triumph eventhough the triumph has double the engine capacity. You get what you pay for and the bike definitely feels like it's made on a budget but for what it is I guess it's decent.

The finally the super meteor 650, the suspension is an upgrade vs the other 2 models as if not mistaken they are showa units. The damping feels better matched between the front and rear suspension. Being the first time ever to ride on a cruiser with foot forward, the initial feeling is awkward but I got used to it pretty fast. Overall fit and finish is better than the other 2 650 but you do have to pay more for it. It would be nice if the interceptor and continental gt can get the same suspension and components upgrades as the super meteor as more people prefer the looks of those 2 bikes than the super meteor. The brakes on both RE feels pretty similar, which is not really that good, but usable.

looking at the road condition in this country.

just adding on, especially for a new bike, the first fork oil change should be much sooner

I've seen fork oil that's pitch black, glittery with metal flakes and lost viscosity, and that's coming out of a fork with aftermarket cartridge being neglected

Treat the fork oil like the engine oil, brake fluids too

Well said

Unfortunately most of the bikers I talk to, they didn't know that the fork require maintenance.

stock shocks are not serviceable item, or not recommended for service
those that are serviceable, are quite apparent, usually with external reservoir (piggyback or remote)

service interval is similar to front forks as well
- seals, bump stop, bladder, valve shims, o-rings are among the things they need to check or replace
