ive applied petronas for one year plus through website mutiple times, sent Cv and resume during some jobfairs and conventions but I've never got a formal reply nor any emails even if i'm not shortlisted or whatsoever.
i don't know which part i am to be discriminated. my friends at least got an email or chitchat session, SI and became employees.
i'd graduated last year and applied since may last year. its ironic that people i've read here got interview 3 to 4 months after application. is my resume and cv annoying, unattractive or my background or what i've no idea. just somehow disappointed that not all people have the fair ground to compete for jobs. maybe i should just pray to God.

Well truth is, there are too many applications. You ought to stand out in one way or another. Having a pointer 2.7 and extending your degree dont help, unless you have solid reasons for that. Even if you do, HRs have every right to prioritize candidates with better record.

the truth is even the 1st class degree stdnt can't perform well..they only good on paper, indeed!!

Hi, thank you for your insight. Honestly, I tend to be over dramatic a little over the internet to experiment with others' responses since I thought I would be anonymous to a certain degree, but obviously it's not so hahaha. If my memory doesnt' fail me, I think you'd replied me last year as well.
Yes, I do have solid reasons but of course I would keep it to myself because it would be perceived as excuses by others.

on 27th sep,i have attended the structured interview for petronas carigali at pacific regency. they told the result at the end of the SI. luckily i passed the interview. alhamdulillah. didn't expect the result as im not perform well in case study and role play in the morning. my graduation day just a few days before the interview.

actually i send my resume and cover letter to HR on august..and at the end of august they call me for chit chat.a few weeks later, they called me to attend SI and passed the interview. lucky me to get that fast. im not petronas scholar.

the selection to join petronas is a bit picky. they will prefer bumis.this is TRUE.

once ur in,bumi or not, u got equal chance, if you are high performer plus you are damn visible, u can reach ur dream ASAP.

got top management are non bumis. u don see much now i think due to ratio of bumi/non bumi. i think 8 vs 1 now. so, u don see lots of non bumi top management. earlier when petronas was born, very few non bumi joined petronas, so, plesae expect that. u dont give top management to newcomers. if u say those auditing firms discriminate by race, yes i agree, but hell no, not petronas.

petronas salary may not be much, but comapred to the workload, u get much higher than what u work. lots of people wanna quit Shell, Exxon, KPMG, schlumberger u think for what reasons?

to summarize, if u ever been offered a job by petronas, quickly accept it. it will not come twice. rumors are fresh grad will get 4K by june. so act now!bonus is high to compnesate the OK salary.benefits are too long to list down.the people are friendly, but not all. common la, any company also got few people you hate, right?

What about if they offer you a contract position.?
The payment is not that high.
It will be on project basis.

seriously??! did you apply through discover or you have someone in petronas to revert your resume? roughly, how long is the process from application to SI and result, is it 2 o 3 months?

actually i send my resume to HR on 12/8. i got the HR email from my senior. they called me for chit chat call on 28/8, they called me again on 19/9 for confirmation to attend interview and my SI was on 27/9...seriously, i didnt expect that fast.  for my case, it is about 1-2 months from application to SI. the result for SI straight away announced after the session on the same day.

good for you. now the 2nd phase of waiting begins, which is for the offer letter. some of us took weeks, some even months to receive the offer letter after our SI result.

don't get your hopes too high until there's black and white. until then go and apply for other jobs.

why not try, maybe it can be your stepping stone..
