Maybe this'll get Nintendo off their lazy asses and release features faster instead of holding them, and being bypassed by the homebrew/custom firmware community to do so. Native wireless audio through Bluetooth for example. Sure, it'll eat into battery life, but they dont have to make it mandatory, just make it an option via on/off toggles.

As for the piracy aspect of the homebrew scene, well.............Capcom for example, would do well not to gouge users with their ridiculous pricing (read: USF2:TFC) and start pricing them accordingly else angry end users might find it more prudent to venture into the "shadier" side of things.

for the wireless audio via bluetooth, generally speaking
it seems there are lag issues due to the nature of the bluetooth capability
it's just wasn't designed to handle large volume of data

if just purely listening to music, you probably won't notice the lag, but for movie watching and gaming, there seems to be lots of complaints on lag, lip sync issues, and audio lag in gaming especially those time sensitive games that depends on audio cue.

So my suspect is Ninty is aware of such issue, instead of risking major complaints from the players about the audio lag, they just disable the bluetooth audio altogether.

If you're basing this on "audio out via the headphone jack to a wireless bluetooth transmitter plugged into the headphone jack and pairing your bluetooth headphones with that said bluetooth transmitter" setup, that'll explain the audio delay: you're processing audio information twice (once via analog through physical headphone connector and one more time digitally via internal BT processing on the BT transmitter. Analog-to-digital conversion takes processing power and adds inherent audio lag you mentioned.). Bypassing that setup with NATIVE BT audio eliminates that. That's how PS3/4 and Xbox has been doing with their wireless audio delivery. The headphone jack on the Dualshock 4 delivers audio wirelessly enough to work as an option to play at night while your entire household is asleep.

Which is why I mention again, have it as an OPTION, not mandatory. Those who aren't acutely sensitive to these audio discrepancies (like how console folks dont care whether it's 30fps or 60fps, or "human eye can't see beyond 30fps anyway" argument) have that as an OPTION. The very nature and mantra of the homebrew scene is to explore options that are possible, instead of relying on the timetable of the hardware manufacture themselves (either because the hardware manufacture is slow in adopting/providing them, or locking said features behind a schedule or future expansion to make the hardware look good.).

A better solution for the wireless audio option is to use USB-C Audio and transmit wirelessly from there. Digital-to-digital audio flow, and less taxing on the hardware itself to convert (which translate to less or zero audio lag), compared to analog-to-digital. http://www.techradar.com/news/how-usb-c-wi...-headphone-jack . A small BT transmitter with USB-C jack plugged at the end of the USB-C port on the Switch, just like those little fingernail size dongle you have for BT peripherals on your PC. But then again, what do I know, Nintendo prefers that you use THIS contraption instead of a more streamlined, elegant solution:

nope, not about "audio out via the headphone jack to a wireless bluetooth transmitter plugged into the headphone jack and pairing your bluetooth headphones with that said bluetooth transmitter" setup, that setup for sure will have lag, I'm talking about direct console bluetooth to headset bluetooth lag
for the PS4 controller, I've tried to plug in my PS Gold wireless headset to the controller & compare it against the USB dongle wireless mode, you can notice the audio quality differences there. Sony probably down-sampled the audio quality to small enough to balance between the quality & lag.

that monstrosity from hori, I'll pretend i didn't see it again laugh.gif

yup, best method is Ninty to release an official wireless headset using USB dongle, or let the other 3rd party do it
but judging from past peripherals released by Ninty, I didn't see any wireless headsets, so don't think those old farts sitting in Ninty HQ will be doing so this gen as well doh.gif

Since nobody have tested and successfully paired BT headphones natively to the Switch without any extra dongles, we may never know how affected the audio lag is. Hence why homebrew scene is crucial here. Since Nintendo refuses to do it, or they cant do because the hardware isnt there but refuses to release the official spec sheets.

The DS4-with-headphones setup works, so unless the extra wireless back-and-forth traffic required for the two JoyCons stops that from happening, wireless audio is viable. I don't really see the Nintendo crowd being the picky kind about audio quality, enough to dismiss it as being not adequate enough.

Nintendo Switch bending or warping?

Is it a real thing? what about your systems? any of you have this issue?

I heard it's due excessive heat / playtime

Could be just manufacturing thing again.

Mine at least, doesn't have this issue at all. I'm like 60% on handheld and 40% on dock mode after getting a pro controller.

Mine is very slightly bent.
90% docked and 5% table top and 5% handheld though.

Make sense.
Apparently this only occur to people who play this in docked mode for a long time.

I'm not too bothered about the warping.
Doesn't really affect anything but the resale value.

Hopefully the Nintendo Switch warping issues will be solved by December... since i plan get one when going to Japan around December... though i see most people just send it to the support center to get it fixed or replaced... sadly warranty only limited to local (japan)

also have to worry about the dead pixel issues

Updated*

Seen like we need to get another accessories as shown in the link (have to wait till august for further notice) or we need make sure our dork have good air flow...

I looked around and it doesn't seems that everyone got it even those who just play it on dock mode all the time. So not really an issue for everyone.

Could be when we got ours that it is already slightly bent in the first place. But too excited new console, never noticed it.

It seems that the Switch smartphone app will be available now, but will only start service when Splatoon 2 will be released. Moreover, it appears that only US and Australia can download it now. I wonder if Malaysia or other countries will have this app, but I guess if Miitomo isn't downloadable in Malaysia, then I guess it's not available for us?

I got mine from Impulse Gaming, so it would be a good place to start with.

Thank you for reading.
