My opinion... TM Bhd needs revenue to support the on-going SKR1M, HSBB2, SUBB projects in the next few months, so they can give you faster speed but their revenue shall not drop. Once the projects are completed, TM can afford to reduce the price in 2019, as mentioned by Pak Jib.

TM will try to attract the existing customer to sign up for higher-value package (Unifi Advance/Pro) and the high-end market will be saturated soon. Then they will try to get streamyx (copper) customers to convert to Unifi (Fibre) at similar price (intro of Unifi Lite?) and eventually remove the copper infra at certain areas. For low-end/low-usage customer, they should go for 4G LTE (or 5G after 2020), in terms of speed and cost. Maintenance cost for Unifi and Webe should be much cheaper than the cost of copper-based Streamyx (TM has been losing about RM50 million a year to telecommunications cable theft)

As soon as got confirmed Unifi Lite I will complain to MCMC. Just like the previous Pro customers, why should I pay more for same service as newer subscriber (I'm unifi holder for 4+ years). Even if take away free calls etc. I don't mind.

May I know where do you see the option for Unifi Lite? |

QUOTE(nikrizal @ Mar 11 2017, 09:02 AM) Will be interesting to see the package details. Seems like the old VIP5 (upgraded to 10M) for RM149 which included free local calls. Maybe the RM129 one does not have free calls so less RM20? All current Streamyx packages come bundled with free calls, so must include that when comparing prices, even if some people don't use the local calls. Also there must be some difference or else those paying RM149 Unifi package will complain. Anyone who gets more info please share. |
