It's not exactly a loophole, it's the law, they can't force us if we're moving to a place where there's no UniFi coverage
*
If I want to cancel my Unifi and don't want to pay the penalty, I will tell them to relocate my Unifi to an address which does not have Unifi.
They will come back to me and say that address is not covered and they will terminate it for free (since they don't have service in that address).
I can escape from paying the penalty.

If someone who is not familiar with this loophole, he/she will go to terminate the Unifi and pay the penalty.

Yes, 2.4GHz supports up to 300mbps while 5GHz up to 867mbps
*
I tried in Singapore, 2.4GHz cannot go beyond 120Mbps.
I was testing on a 300Mbps connection.

Those are theoretical speed. You are lucky if you get even close to 100Mbps on 2.4Ghz. tongue.gif

I guess that's why this router is poorly rated.

What's your package? As long as it doesn't fall below the 90% threshold, it's still within the minimum service guarantee by SKMM.

im paying for the 30mbps package. now upgraded to 50mbps already... but man, getting speeds below 5bmps and sometimes 1mbps?

the router tm gave me was probably the best(i've read it online lah)... AC1200

If that address has Streamyx, you still have to continue the contract but with Streamyx instead

And you need to provide a valid proof that you're moving to that place. Such as renting contract or the house grant under your name / parent's name

report back after test on LAN wired  & wireless
*
Too much hassle to test LAN wired as PC is upstairs and router is downstairs. But I tested with 5GHz wireless and can get speed of around 43Mbps. Unfortunately, can only connect to 5GHz when i sit in front of the router. Can't get signal upstairs. sad.gif Oh well, life goes on tongue.gif

BTW, should I use Static IP or Dynamic IP? I switched from static to dynamic and the speed got better somehow... Is it my imagination? biggrin.gif

Anyone else haven't got their upgrade yet? I've registered the 'Thank You Surprise' since January and they say will start upgrading after 31st Jan. Now mid march still nothing. cry.gif
Only got SMS telling about free on-demand shows on 833. I hope this is not a replacement to the real upgrade.

Yr old router still within 12mths warranty can replace for free.
Those who are out of warranty will have to pay or extend 2 yrs contract if want replacement. sad.gif
