QUOTE(cucubud @ Mar 11 2017, 02:22 PM) Most likely it is only the internet access. No voice calls and no HyppTv. It is called "Unifi VIP10" - Video+Internet+Phone. Maybe they will not provide free call, just like Adv30 RM179/RM199.

My opinion... TM Bhd needs revenue to support the on-going SKR1M, HSBB2, SUBB projects in the next few months, so they can give you faster speed but their revenue shall not drop. Once the projects are completed, TM can afford to reduce the price in 2019, as mentioned by Pak Jib.

TM will try to attract the existing customer to sign up for higher-value package (Unifi Advance/Pro) and the high-end market will be saturated soon. Then they will try to get streamyx (copper) customers to convert to Unifi (Fibre) at similar price (intro of Unifi Lite?) and eventually remove the copper infra at certain areas. For low-end/low-usage customer, they should go for 4G LTE (or 5G after 2020), in terms of speed and cost. Maintenance cost for Unifi and Webe should be much cheaper than the cost of copper-based Streamyx (TM has been losing about RM50 million a year to telecommunications cable theft)

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Apr 28 2017, 01:38 AM) Two years counted from 2017, so technically it would be year 2019 for the half-price............ But....quota....sigh.... Don't forget the TM CEO (from year 2016) said TM will intro usage based pricing within 3 years which is 2019........ Just like mobile operators, it is your choice, you want more (high quota or unlimited) you pay more or full price. It is quite fair for those who are not frequent users and shall be granted a discount.

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Apr 28 2017, 01:30 PM) A big IF those operators wanna offer 'high quota' or 'unlimited'......... Remember those ancient VIP5,10 and 20 packages? VIP5=60GB VIP10=90GB VIP20=120GB Subscribers who exceed quotas will have their connection speeds throttled by about 90%. You read that right, there was no option to 'buy' more quota or subscribe unlimited package. The truly unlimited unifi business package can only be subscribed by registered business entity. (By law) One can imagine upcoming usage based package will not be cheap nor affordable. Then again......I prefer 90% speed throttling but still unlimited.....after all....50Mbps unifi (yeah, the upgrade) x 0.10 = 5Mbps can still download 1.2 Terabytes 24hours 30 days. Based on 80:20 rule, only 20% users occupy 80% of bandwidth. So the top 20% pay more and the bottom 80% pay less. TM had yet to implement quota on Unifi (except Streamyx Lite) though it was proposed in 2010. We may monitor our monthly usage, most of us will realise that we hardly use more than 100GB (on download) in a month.
