what so great about webe ? other than RM79 , i dont find it interesting on the unlimited data... cannot tethering also
*
I'm not a fan of Webe too, overwhelmed with too much data from two telcos that I'm using and plus I have my own 50M UniFi at home.
Anyway, if you know the way, Webe can be tethered. Illegal to discuss anyway. smile.gif
Whoever sees this post, please do not PM me for Webe tethering...

Hi i got a question.

Does a Lan coupler works okay? Need to extend RJ45. Dont want to buy new longer cable and reinstall. Was thinking just to extend it.

Does a Lan coupler will do the job?

Now there's some problem with this telco. Seems like it starts to throttle people's usage.

Should work for short distances. But the connection has to be secure and stable, else you will get disconnects from time to time...

You can use any extra old gigabyte router, turn it into bridge mode, then not only you can extend the distance but you'll also have additional ports.

well thats true tho but i just want to extend a single rj45 to my room and i think for additional ports, switcher works better for that purpose.

2.4GHz for long range and strong penetration through walls, but crowded (since neighbors may use them) and susceptible to interference (microwaves, cordless phones....) icon_idea.gif

5GHz for shorter range and weaker penetration through walls, but it is much less susceptible to interference and is not crowded as 2.4GHz. 5GHz is also the band for 802.11ac WiFi (provided that your router and your PC supports them) icon_idea.gif

5GHz is faster, but shorter ranger, and only latest devices support it.

Note that if ur internet speed is less than 100mbps, browsing speed is similar between both.

5 ghz is faster but signals lose strength faster as you move further from the router

2.4 ghz is slower but signals is stronger over longer distances

This is my layman findings after less than a week of usage

Please post your speed test

QUOTE(roosie @ Mar 7 2017, 09:48 PM)
Reporting my experience at my house at The Lake Residence, Puchong.

After having Unifi 30Mbps installed on 18/2, I really thought that I would get the free speed upgrade to 50Mbps. However, after having check the thankyousurprise microsite 2x on 2 different dates, I was not offered that upgrade, instead got the offer of either free Jumbo pack or Webe sub. I have also engaged their CS via TM Chat, and still no joy. Reason given was that my area has "technical limitation" and it is clearly stated in their TnC that is a valid reason for not offering the speed upgrade.  cry.gif

I am so disappointed learning that. Just wondering if anyone else at my taman is experiencing the same thing? Does anyone else also have installed 50Mbps at my taman?

You can visit this website www.tm.com.my/#/explore

After you filled in your address, it will show you the packages that are available at your place. If it shows you the 50Mbps package, then u can ask TM to upgrade you to 50Mbps.
