Thanks for clarifying that! Learned something new as well.  I'll just change the GPU to the 1070 then for now.

Hmm. You can go ahead with that, but I think it will bottleneck your cpu.. If not you'd have to downgrade to 1050ti maybe.. Lol.

More or less the same, if you are thinking to swap to other GTX1060, don't do it, not worth the effect and money just for the little difference (likely none or just 1 to 2°C).

If no radiator or anything that can block the airflow (front panel) then no need to go for SP, AF is more efficient in this case.

2 AF120 for front panel, 1 AF120 on top and 1 AF120 for rear panel. Or just get 2 AF120 without buying 4 new AF120 at the same time since the case comes with 2 120mm casing fans already.

doh.gif biggrin.gif already bought and installed the 1070 haha. I looked for some other resources as well such as this vid on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eg9h7AdN0gw

probably Like you said it will bottleneck, when on CPU heavy games. Will most likely upgrade the Mobo and processor in the future as well.

Thanks alot for your advice and suggestions! biggrin.gif

I would say it is better than the stock casing fan, but how much better? Hard to judge by looking at the specs sheet given, they could be very noisy when running at full speed, so remember to get the PWM version if you want to have full control on their speed, PWM (4-pin) version is more expensive than standard 3-pin version.

Hi,, about the fan..
What is AF and what is SP?
How to differentiate between them?

I have aigo blade casing free with 2 fan at front. I want to add another fan but not sure which fan should i buy.. Budget around 100.

Thanks.

AF is "Air Flow" while SP is "Static Pressure".

AF = good in unrestricted air flow (much higher CFM compared to SP)

SP = good in restricted air flow as the design of the fan is to push the air through the obstacles like radiator, HDD/SDD cage, PSU etc.

So first thing you need to do is to check out if there is anything in your rig that is currently blocking the path of the position of the casing fan, if yes then get SP type casing fan, if no then AF casing fan will do. Another important thing to take note is whether you want to have full control on the speed of the casing fan or not, go for normal 3-pin if you don't want to control them (via software or BIOS), 4-pin (PWM) if you want to control them.

Hahaha. Oh. Might as well upgrade straight away. Lol. Medium mobo is about 500+. Plus cpu could about 900. Oh and your ram. About 300. If you can reuse your psu is better. Lol. Save some cost there.

Like my work pc. Haha. Spent about 800 only. Or less. Haha.. case and psu already got, so I save about 400+ there. Lol

What Mobo/CPU/RAM would you suggest? Planning to use back the PSU, SSD, HDD & Casing as well.

If your budget is still 3-4k, u can get a better mobo and cpu. Maybe a 1.5k mobo and a 1.5k cpu. Like i7-7000series i think.. lol Then the ram can be 8GB of any kind, about another 400+. If you still have budget, u can go for 16GB ram, about 500+.. Unless u already deducted the 1070 in your 4k budget.. Lol.. Then that leaves you with about 2.5k to spend. Go with an i5 of any series and a mobo with Z170 or Z270 if u can. tongue.gif ahhah The ram can be any brand you want, since their price is almost similar.. Lol. Im using Corsair and G.Skill. Both diff PC, both also good. haha. And my work pc is Value Kingston ram. lol

i did already deducted the 1070 from the 4k budget haha! after going through the other thread of pp showing of their rigs it's getting harder and harder to stick to the budget lol. I'll probably save up abit more to have a larger budget down the road to upgrade to this --> "Maybe a 1.5k mobo and a 1.5k cpu. Like i7-7000series i think.." . tongue.gif Thanks alot for your help bobowyc! Really appreciate it!
