It's not the motherboard that restricts the GPU but the processor. What processor do you have? Also what ram do you have because it might be low ram too?

Overall, if you need a new GPU, what is your budget and what games do you play that is graphically intense?
*
This is my current spec :
Intel Core i5 6500
Gigabyte B150M-D3H (D4)
Corsair 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM
Zotac GTX950 2GB
FSP Hexa+ 450W
Tecware Alpha

Just thinking to upgrade gpu. Budget maybe 1k plus. If no budget what's the max gpu can put in? Thanks

If 1k+ budget, you could consider GTX 1060 6GB. If no budget, you could consider GTX 1070Ti or even a GTX 1080 but that also means you'd have to change your PSU.

I see. Great thanks smile.gif

Hey sifus need your help,

I've got an old monitor that I want to use as a second monitor but only has VGA port. My graphic card doesn't have a VGA port.

The GPU only has HDMI (already using that for first monitor), Dual-link DVI-D and DisplayPort.

Which converter should I get? VGA to Dual-link DVI-D or DisplayPort?

Hi all, my current set up, built since 2012

GIGABYTE GA-H77M-D3H

Core i5 3470

KINGSTON 4GB DDR3 (1333MHz)

SAPPHIRE AMD RADEON HD 7850 256bit 2GB

LITEON 22X DVD-RW

WESTERN DIGITAL 500GB

ACBEL 550WATTS

On win7 jack sparrow due to studying last time.
Pc is getting slow..

My expectation,
To upgrade booting up speed, run Dota2 mid setting smoothly (still ok),

- Currently booting up and auto start steam took a long time.
- normal use Dota2, YouTube and Ms Office work/ share market charting

Add 4GB RAM and Samsung 860 Evo 250GB SSD and you'll start significantly faster.

You can get ori key for Windows 10 from Shopee. RM5 only

It is plug and play. Just run Samsung data migration

Either one will work just fine but I'd personally get the display port adapter.
*
Any reason why you'd get a display port instead of dvi?

If only for pure gaming, Intel still gives better performance.

GIGABYTE B360M AORUS GAMING 3 359
KINGSTON D4 PC2666 8GB 342

Looks good to me but another suggestion would be to just get a single 8GB ram and the extra money can put into a better GPU.
*
Yeah I thought about that too, but 1070Ti is about double the price of the 1060....it'll bump my build price to more than 5k XD

Thank you very much on the suggestion above. Will go for it.

May I know is 75Hertz Monitor ( LG29WK600 ) is sufficient for gaming? PUBG, FPS Game? I really love the ultra wide screen, but if this UW screen is bad for FPS gaming, maybe the only way I can is downgrade to Dell 24" 144Hertz IPS.

Would like to hear from you all again, thank you

afaik, there is no 144hz ips from dell. Only TN
Also I think no 24 inch ips with 144hz as of now. Only 27 inch

Here is a few suggestion:
Acer XB271HU
Asus PG279Q
Viewsonic XG2703-GS

All the above is 1440p 144Hz (Oc to 165Hz) 27 inch IPS

If 24 inch Dell, you have the S2417DG (TN)

The best 24 inch 144hz is the xg2402 for 900 on shopee. If you want a VA panel, myasashi is selling the Samsung c24fg73 for 1.15k.

Xg2402 has good colours and response time after configuration. You can check pc monitors review online for the colour profile.

Samsung's monitor has the best colour overall but you need to play lottery with the panels. They have bad QC.

Something affordable is the Acer ED242r; best priced so far is from Lazada.

If your main games are FPS, then 144hz monitor would be a good choice.

If video editing then u can find some IPS panel. If casual gaming then 60hz will do. Should be able to fit your price point with the spec.
