Guys. If someone wanna build a pc, base on editing programs. Between Intel 8400 and ryzen 2600 which is a cheaper overall build considering..
1, 8gb or ram
2, mobo, wont oc on the cpu
3, psu, must be gtx 1060 6gb ready..
6, gpu, dont need it for now, but still need it for ryzen2600 right?

I wanna see a build thats cheapear between the two, and the gpu will be added in the future.. i wanna see the price different between mobo and considering the ryzen 2600 needs a gpu, iinm..

Personally I'd go with Ryzen:
Ryzen 2600x - 909 - Shopee
Gigabyte X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming - 600 - Lelong
G.SKILL Trident Z 3000MHz RGB DDR4 Single Channel 8GB - 409 - Shopee
Corsair TX650M - 360 - Lelong
Tecware Nexus - 175 - Shopee
Total - 2453

Get the 2600x if you don't plan to overclock, the 2600x also comes with a better stock cooler than the 2600
If you ever plan to get another 8GB RAM, make sure you get the same one I listed above
Also, you can cut the cost even further by getting a B350 mobo instead, just need to make sure it supports the 2600x out of the box
The x470 is just for future-proofing + it supports the 2600x straight out of the box

Intel build:
Intel i5-8400 - 685 - Shopee
ASRock B360M PRO4 - 323 - Lelong
CORSAIR RAM Desktop DDR4 8GB PC2666 CMK8GX4M1A2666C16R RED - 388 - Lelong
Corsair TX650M - 360 - Lelong
Tecware Nexus M - 117 - Shopee
Total - 1873

Not much to say with this Intel build, its likely to perform worse in threaded tasks as compared to the Ryzen build I made above

Hi all,

So far i have these specs:

CPU: INTEL CORE I5-8400 RM 698
MOBO: GIGABYTE B360M AORUS GAMING 3 RM 337.00
RAM: G.SKILL AEGIS 8GB 2400MHZ RM 379
GPU: GALAX GTX 1050 TI OC 4GB RM 689.00
SSD: SAMSUNG 250GB 850 EVO RM 367.00
HDD: WD BLUE 1TB 163
PSU: SUPER FLOWER LEADEX II GOLD 650W RM 414.00
CASE: TECWARE NEXUS TG MATX RM 139

TOTAL: RM 3186 (E Tech prices)

I'm planning to use this system for long term, will upgrade the components when I can afford to (graphics card, RAM etc).

It's my first custom computer, so pardon my noob questions:

1. Is this MOBO a good choice for a long term use?
2. Do I need any additional component for network (Wifi) and sound (soundcard maybe?)? Any recommendations?
3. Am I overdoing it with the PSU? Should I use a lower wattage one?
4. Any parts I should substitute out? My usage is mainly for light gaming (dota/hearthstone/diablo etc), watch movie etc. I can spend up to 3500.

Thanks.

Hi all,
suggestion please.

Budget 3-4k. the lower the better
I just need 3 more items as I just got CPU(intel i7-8700K)
and recycled old HDD/SDD and PSU (Silverstone 600W).
Purposes: GAMING ofcourse, and a little bit of programming (thinking of better RAM; 16GB at least?) and thinking of upgrading in the future

Mobo:
RAM:
GPU:

Thanks guys.

With ryzen build, i still need a gpu for this to run right?
So we can build cheaper with Intel.. Really dont need a gpu, I'll add in the future, together with more ram.. It's really about cpu, and i won't oc on it.. So any mobo is no problem..

Yes you will need a dedicated graphic card with the Ryzen build since the 2600/2700 series does not come with integrated graphic.
If budget is really tight then go with the Intel build, then my only suggestion would be to get an SSD for the build.

[Budget] 3k

[Purpose] High FPS Gaming (140+ FPS)

[Hardwares that will be re-use] GPU, 550W PSU, Monitor, Peripherals

[What I'll need] CPU, MOBO, RAM, Casing, Win 10 Home Premium

Hi all,

Could anyone provide suggestion of specs for the above?

Thinking of upgrading my CPU first, GPU later on (probably 1080/1080 TI).
Just wondering if I need to upgrade my PSU 650W as well when I make that upgrade?

Thanks.

What about these:

CPU: INTEL CORE I7-8700 RM 1,213.00
MOBO: ASUS ROG STRIX H370-F GAMING RM 567.00
RAM: CORSAIR VENGEANCE LED (2X8G) DDR4 2666MHZ RM 886.00
CASE: CORSAIR CARBIDE SERIES 275R RM 279.00
OS: https://shopee.com.my/Windows-10-Pro-Home-E...8724.1212548382

TOTAL: RM2,951 (E Tech prices)

What brand and model PSU are you using? If it's a good one, you could still use it with a 1080 but for 1080ti it's recommended to get 650w PSU.
*
Thanks for the suggestion.

I'm using a FSP Raider 550Whttp://www.fsplifestyle.com/PROP161000093/
Do you think I'd need to get a new PSU if I went for 1080 or better to be safe and get a 650W?

alright.. so managed to lock these down

ryzen 5 2600x = 900
g.skill trident z 16gb 3200MHz = 890
galax 1070 ti exoc snpr = 1990
super flower leadex silver 550w = 285
gigabyte ab350 gaming 3 = 415
tecware void = 275 (yes rubbish airflow, but so pretty)
4755, other than obscene ram prices, rest of the bits were cheaper (slightly) than expected.

now im left with storage....
not sure if this is the right thread to ask about the minor details like this, but why on earth is samsung's ssd's a whole ton more expensive!?
im assuming for a gaming machine, i can save some $$$ here and get an ssd with decent reads but slower writes?
anyone have any opinions these:
Apacer AS340
GALAX 240GB GAMER L

That’s a not bad PSU with silver rating. If you plan to overclock, I’d personally go with 650w for extra headroom smile.gif

I'm planning on upgrading the GPU perhaps in Q4 so will keep that in mind.
Thanks for the help!

Hi sifus,

[Budget] 5k - 6k

[Purpose] mostly gaming and to have high scalability (for upgrades) in the future.

As a total noob, this is what I got so far, anything missing? (I think I need to some Wifi adapters as well?):-

CPU: Intel Core I5 8400 RM689
MOBO: GIGABYTE Z370 AORUS Gaming 5 RM909
RAM: G.SKILL AEGIS Series 8GB DDR4 2666mhz (CL19) RM369
GPU: GIGABYTE GTX1070TI Windforce 8GB DDR5 256BIT RM2229
SSD: SAMSUNG 860 EVO M.2 250GB SSD RM429
HDD: WD 1TB Caviar Blue 7200RPM/64MB RM189
PSU: CORSAIR SF450 (SFX) (80+ GOLD/MODULAR) RM379
CASE: PHANTEKS ECLIPSE P300 Tempered Glass (White)(RGB) RM255

Total - RM5448* (Prices from Idealtech PC)

Any recommendations and advice highly appreciated biggrin.gif

Edit: oh ya, i dont tend to OC, if it matters at all for my pc build.

Nvidia recommends 500W or better for GTX 1070 Ti. Look for Corsair SF600

Sorry, didnt look the spec properly. You don't need SFX PSU on standard ATX rig. Corsair TX 650M is around the same price as SF 450.

Since you don't OC, Z370 is a total waste. Gigabyte H370 Gaming 3 at RM559 is more than enough. You can definitely go for GTX 1080 with that savings since the power supply is already 650W.
