VRAM usage going past the max also can hurt the performance. Depends on what game and monitor resolution you want to play.

QUOTE(Marcion @ Dec 12 2025, 07:25 PM) is not budget problem, is which gpu match with cpu so it would not be bottleneck, i just need to know which gpu should i buy if current gpu dead. Hmm... 8700K is slightly below 12400, that would be your modern equivalent. What resolution your playing? Higher reso ie 4K or UW, the CPU has lesser bottlenecks. At 1080P it will bottleneck a 3080/4070, less so at 1440P. So a today equivalent aim for 5060TI 16GB/9060xt 16GB for 1080/1440P and 5070/9070 for 4K. If you aim for the 4K GPUs, ensure you have at least 750W PSU.
