Hi All,

Is it possible to squeeze a 1070Ti in 4-4.3k budget?
*
Following the posted prices by both Tristan and Kristal, you could fit a 1080 inside your build if you choose. It would be faster than the 1070 ti you wanted.

Here is a build from Etech and KoolPC lelong

CPU: CORE I5 8400 (6C/6T) 692 - easyit2u
MOBO: Asrock B360M Pro4 323 - easyit2u / ATX Pro4 - 365
RAM: CRUCIAL D4 PC2400 CL17 8GB 351 - koolpc (closest is Kingston HyperX 2133 Cl14 which is slightly faster than the Crucial 358 - easyit2u. A 2400/ above at lower CL number would be ideal)
GPU: Zotac 1080 Mini 2246 - koolpc
HDD: Western Blue 155 - koolpc (170 easyit2u/ 159 western digital lazada)
PSU: Superflower Silver 301 - easyit2u
CASE: Cooler Master Masterbox E500L 179 easyit2u
Total: 4254 excluding shipping

A suggestion to get a lower price for a set is to buy everything except the GPU from Etech to get those set bonuses. KoolPC has a 2% discount if you deal with them directly instead of lelong so you could bring the GPU price lower (according to their lelong page)

Motherboard: The ultra gaming is the same board but with less features and less RGB than the gaming 5. It is cheaper. You can opt for MSI Carbon Pro which has better VRM components for overclocking or top up for a Asus Strix which is better than both. You can also go for x370 boards for AMD since they just need a BIOS update. Ask the shop to help you.

GPU: GTX 1080 are in the same price bracket so you should opt for those instead. If you want silence, get one with dual fans since they run cooler and thus produce less noise.

Ram: Flare X is good enough.

SSD: Get the 860 Evo instead since they cost almost the same but the 860 uses MLC which is better.

Case: You can opt for the Bequiet cases. The trade off is that they are quieter but don't have as much flexibility as the R5; less water-cooling support or HDD/ SSD slots.

PSU: Superflower is good option.

Cooler: You can look at Bequiet Dark Rock Pro 3 too. It is quieter but loses to about 1-2 degrees on temperature.

Dear sifu,

This is my current mobo Gigabyte B150M-D3H (D4) and gpu gtx950 from zotac. What gpu I can max out on this mobo? This gpu can't eally keep up with some new game I wanna play.

Thanks
*
It's not the motherboard that restricts the GPU but the processor. What processor do you have? Also what ram do you have because it might be low ram too?

Overall, if you need a new GPU, what is your budget and what games do you play that is graphically intense?

The best 24 inch 144hz is the xg2402 for 900 on shopee. If you want a VA panel, myasashi is selling the Samsung c24fg73 for 1.15k.

Xg2402 has good colours and response time after configuration. You can check pc monitors review online for the colour profile.

Samsung's monitor has the best colour overall but you need to play lottery with the panels. They have bad QC.

Something affordable is the Acer ED242r; best priced so far is from Lazada.

how about if im doing video editing and FPS games like bf1 and upcoming bfV which monitor should i get  sweat.gif budget around 1K sharp..

You have a few options to think about.

Dell P2418D 24 inch monitor with 1440p resolution at 929 (Dell). You get a qHD resolution which lets you have more space on the screen for production. Its an IPS screen so colours and viewing angles are great. However the drawback is that you would get lower response time since it is an IPS 60hz monitor.

Dell S2719H 27 inch at 1080p for 949 (Dell). You get 27inches but at 1080p. Bigger real estate to view but smaller resolution.

Dell U2417H 24 inch 1080p monitor for 969 (Dell) meant for photo editing and etc. This monitor should be excellent for colour reproduciton and editing but has a lower resolution, low reponse time and screen space; it won't be as good for FPS.

Small excerpt on the different models

LG 29UM59A 29 inch 75hz 2580x1080 for 750 (Lelong). You get an ultrawide resolution which gives more horizontal space to view your editing and work. It allows you to have more tabs and windows open at once and gives you more real estate in FPS games to see the enemies without moving the screen as much. It's 75hz so a lot smoother than a standard 60hz and it is IPS so colours would be a tad better but may not be in the range of photo editing.

Acer ED273 1080p VA 144hz panel for 579 (Lazada). The colours are not as good as an IPS but black are darker due to the increase contrast ratio of 3000. The response time is faster than the IPS at 4ms but still slower than a normal TN so it won't be as good in game.

Viewsonic Vx2757mhd 1080p 75hz TN panel for 700 (Lelong). The contrast ratio is recorded as 1000 and above in some reviews so the colours would be sufficient but may not be as good as the VA or IPS panels. It has low response time so less lag in game.

Viewsonic Xg2402 1080p 144hz TN for 900 (Shopee). This has good colours for a TN screen and has 144hz so no problems in FPS.

Hi,

What is the maximum value for specs i can get for RM10K gaming PC including monitor?
*
What do you use it for or how do you want to allocate your money. 8k desktop, 1.5k monitor, 500 kb and mouse? You can go up to 8k just on the monitor itself.

woww this one nice

You could top up an extra 100 for Viewsonic vx2457mhd for 75hz for a budget

QUOTE(daus89 @ Jun 26 2018, 03:22 PM)
hi sifus
with budget around rm3k,what can i upgrade from these specs, atleast can tahan for another 5years. Thinking to use ryzen as cpu

CPU:    Intel Core I5 3570k
MOBO:  Some Asus Mobo
RAM:    16GB DDR3
GPU:    AMD HD7970 GHZ Edition
SSD:    Kingston Hyper 120GB
HDD:    WD 1TB Caviar Blue 7200RPM/64MB
PSU:    CM RM650

This specs is around 4 or 5 years old
*
If you can overclock to 4.8-5ghz then your CPU still has some life for maybe 2 more years because ddr4 is quite expensive right now due to the manufacturers price fixing dram. You can go this route.

Keep
CPU, Ram, Mobo, SSD, HDD, PSU

Change to
GTX 1070/ 1070 ti / 1080 - 1690 /1989/ 2246 lelong various vendors

or if you seriously want to upgrade then here is an option

Keep
SSD, HDD, PSU

Change to
Ryzen 2600 - 800
Team Elite 8gb 2400hz ddr4 x2 - 295x2 =590
Asrock B350m Pro4 -299
GTX 1060 6gb - 1131
(Overclock for better results)
Total: 3025 lelong various vendors

Intel solution
i5 8400 - 695
Asrock B360m Pro4 - 323
(You can't overclock the processor and it has only 6 cores than the Ryzen. You would however get slightly better gaming perfomance if you fight stock intel vs stock AMD)
Total: 2944 lelong various vendors

QUOTE(radiohear91 @ Jun 26 2018, 07:39 PM)
hi all sifus..

my budget is around below 2.5k

wanna build itx gaming rig.. prefer using cooler master elite 110a

monitor already have.. other not yet.. thx.
*
Intel solution

CPU: i5 8100 - 445
Mobo: Asrock B360m-ITX/ac - 419
Ram: Team Elite 8gb 2400hz ddr4 - 295
HDD: WD 1tb Blue - 150
GPU: Zotac 1050 ti - 689
Case: Elite 110a - 150 (You can opt for an Silverstone SG13 - 180 which is smaller and has better airflow due to the mesh front)

You have 2 power supply options that you can consider. An ATX power supply which takes up more space in the case and blocks ventilations or go for an SFX power supply that would let some air vent into the case through the adapter. A

Here is a recommendation for a SFX PSU: Silverstone SFX 450W Bronze - 285. It has a fan that won't break down after long use (ball bearing fan is good. A sleeve bearing fan would break down and make noise after long use).

Total: 2433 lelong various vendors

thx for ur suggestion
i found newer game really cpu extensive eg: pubg
my proc cant really handled the games
and no i never oc my proc
maybe that is the problem  hmm.gif

Check if your board is a Zxx (Example Z68) board. You can overclock since you have an i5 k processor. If you don't have a cooler, a reasonable one is a Cooler Master Hyper 212 which can do 4.4-4.5ghz stable. PUBG is just an unoptimise mess that it can't run well; a game like Assassin Creed Origins looks 10x better but can also run 10x better. Most likely it is your graphic card that is holding you back because even a new Pentium G4560 can play PUBG. Search YouTube and you can see people play with your processor with better GPU and they get 60-90fps consistently.

I hope i posted dis on a right place..
Ok so my current rig is as stated in my sig..

2500k already came to the end of its era..
And i plan to upgrade..

Recently i got an offer of used mobo and processor
Asus z170 deluxe + delided i7 7700k

Alternatively to that, with around the same price as that
Im able to get a brand new aorus ultra gaming 2.0 + i3 8350k

1.between those two.. which are the better option
2. If my budget is around 2k (also need a new set of ram) what could you recommend ?

I plan to overclock.. and i plan to buy a better graphic card
*
I7 >>> i3 8350k. Even with liquid nitrogen on the i3, i7 will still beat it. The 8350k is overpriced garbage.

Your alternative is to get a 2600x and a higher b450 board such as the MSI carbon or at least the tomahawk.

I would recommend the i7 for gaming but if you plan on streaming or video editing, the Ryzen will give a bit better performance.

You can look at klevv 8gb 3000mhz from techview for 320. Get higher Hz and lower CL numbers for as cheap as possible

I would recommend a list as below..

proc : Ryzen 5 2600 (6 cores & 12 threads), RM739

mobo : Asus tuf b450M-plus gaming, RM499.99

ram : Kingston fury 8gb ddr4 pc 2933mhz, RM393

grand total : RM1632

as you still can sell the old 1155 socket proc, i5 2500k for, RM329

p/s, as for Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H B3 mobo, if its still working good, can sell off for at least RM250

icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Avoid TUF for your life. It is not worth it anymore since Asus drag them from high end 24/7 to capalang. 500 can top up for x470 budget board which is way better than TUF.
