My idea for a Jan 2024 budget build with upcoming 14th Gen Refresh nonK CPU
CPU 13700F / 14700F (will come in Jan 2024)
MOBO MSI B760M-A DDR4
RAM 32GB (16x2) Corsair vengeance 3200 DDR4
GPU RX6700XT / RX6750XT / RX7700XT / RTX 4070 if budget can still fit (7800XT pun boleh but then will need to up the PSU to 750/850W Gold)
SSD 1TB either S70 Blade / Legend 960 / KC3000
PSU MSI MAG A650BN / FSP HVPRO 650W
Case Tecware Nexus Air / Montech Air 1000 (both ATX casing)
or else Nexus Air M2/Forge / Montech Air 100 (MATX casing)
Cooler can use back Intel stock box cooler but if noise/temp is an issue get PA/PS 120/SE
Pricing sendiri cari but most likely will be within 5k

Laptop has different usage bro. Think whats important to you.

If need to be traveling sometimes bring computer then defo get a lappie, yes specs will be quite inferior to desktop PC for same price but you gain in portability. And you can work & game on the go wherever.

If ur not traveling that needs computer or ady have a lappie for such purpose, then yeah better to get a desktop PC as its more value for ur money spent.

That price was from old stock. NAND flash industry predicted the demand wrongly earlier and had a lot of inventory. The clearance is done now.

[Purpose] Your usual day-to-day internet surfing, light gaming (no AAA games), some data works and maybe some light video editing.

[Hardwares that will be re-use] Monitor, keyboard, mouse, headphones..

[Monitor resolution] 1920 x 1080

[Games & softwares that use frequently] Terraria, Stardew Valley, Sims, CSGO, some MMO, Canvas, Excel, Tableau.

[Personal preferences] GF wanted the rig to be either in pink or white. Preferably NVME to store windows and important programs and a separate HDD for games (doesn't care if games takes longer time to load). Either Intel/AMD fine. Stocks cooling should suffice (?).

[Location] KL

I know the budget is on the lower side given how prices of parts have already increased vs few years back, but seeing if it's still possible to get something up. Few questions:

1) With the usage/games/softwares that will be used here, can the rig handle them without dedicated GPU (say running 60-100 fps on medium-high settings, no ultra etc)?

2) Would I be better off hunting the parts and build it myself or getting those pre-build PC from those online sites?

Market trend predicts price rise will only up to 13% by end this year but now even non-Samm drives are going higher at least 20%, this rise is more than just price normalisation with inventory cleared up. Local SSD current pricing is looking at the worst of worst case scenario. Its totally out of whack.
Something else is pushing the rise % even higher.

Thematic build are quite hard to do on a limited budget. No guarantees on pricing but a budget white build can try;

CPU i5-12400 (min) / 13500 (if budget can fit)
Mobo Asrock B760M Pro RS DDR4 - silver/whitish theme on black PCB
RAM Corsair VENGEANCE LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 (White)
PSU MSI A650BN / FSP HVPRO 650W
Case Tecware Nexus M2/Forge / Montech Air 100 (White) - either both will hide the black PSU
White sleeve extension cables preferably from known OEM brands ie Tecware, Asiahorse
GPU This is optional if light MMO games, can run off the igpu. Also White theme GPU are not easily available. There is Colorful igame 3050

Hey thanks for the recommendation. I should maybe specify it clearer haha.. just the case being pink or white is good enough.

I forgot to add in SSD - KC3000 see which size still fits ur budget.
Also forgot to add in cooler but thats optional, can use back Intel box stock cooler but also can use SE224XT/XTS (white) if got budget

If only case needs to be specific colour then it makes things easier but still the spec I reco boleh pakai just that you can opt for standard black parts if white got no stock, can delete the sleeve extensions too.

If you can do a full white build, actually it looks so much nicer really. 

Regarding the KC3000, it is using PCIe 4.0 right. Does that mean if I want to put it into a A520M-A Pro mobo (AMD set up), it wouldn't run?
