BTW, any significant performance gain over 2x8GB ram over 1x16GB? I would prefer to get a single slot of 16GB slot since the price doesn't diff much.

What games are you playing though?  Note that for Linux you might want to go for a Radeon GPU over an nVidia one due to far superior open source drivers icon_idea.gif

https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=arti...re-ampere&num=5

IMHO I'd recommend you to go Intel for the time being, due to Ryzen chips are currently in severe shortages right now (and high prices as a result) icon_idea.gif

Just play some very old game like L4D2, I assumed some integrated GPU could handle that already. maybe once or twice per month.

Which Intel processor is recommended compare to Ryzen 5 3600?

Saw a few comments about the trust issue (or lansi-ness) with the Salesperson. Would it better to purchase the parts from Lazada rather than go visit the shop?

Can't really find a good item rating on Lazada/Shopee for MSI B460M Bazooka but able to find for Mortar. Does MSI B460M Mortar worth the additional RM 50 - 70 compare to Bazooka?

if it's only rm50 difference then mortar for sure, better VRM, 2x USB C (front and rear, make sure your casing has USB C), additional 2x SATA, additional PCIe x16 instead of PCIe x1.

This is what I found from Shopee (https://shopee.com.my/MSI-B460M-MORTAR-INTEL-B460-LGA1200-MOTHERBOARD-INTEL-10TH-GEN-CPU-COMBO-PROMO-i.18799831.4640553587). RM 529 (mobo alone) vs RM 479 for Bazooka. Or am I looking at different series etc.? not so sure how many variant it has.

When increasing mobo budget it also getting closer the gap between R5 3600 set vs 10400F.

RM 200 more to go for R5 3600... hhmm.

** not so sure about the RX570 price yet, RM 500+ seems is a used/refurbish unit

Considering 10400f is almost double the price of 10100f. Would an 10100f has better price value ratio compare to 10400f?

Around RM500-600 at most, and anything more and you will be looking at Z490 boards.  If you can wait for a bit more, you should consider going B560 boards as B560 boards allow memory overclocking and supports PCIe 4.0 icon_idea.gif

Yeah, should be fine, but IMHO you should consider waiting for B560 boards if you intend to go for the B460 Tomahawk, as you can't really do much with a B460 board (no memory and CPU overclocking) icon_idea.gif

Does it means B560M with i5-10400 No longer cap at 2666mhz?

Looking for a custom-built PC for light gaming that works as a second machine. Budget 2.5K+. Using Idealtech to check the pricing of the build. Not necessary to be the exact items for some as I have no idea which is better

Requirements:
- Ryzen 5600G -> Light gaming - CS:GO, L4D2
- 32GB memory
- 1TB NVME
- WiFi 6

The rest are really looking for an expert's suggestion!

RAM round 330ish today I think. Use the RAM balance and change SSD to Kingston KC3000 2TB for around RM550. Don't pay for that extremely overpriced Samseng SSD.

Adata XPG Core Reacter 650W can be found for RM428. Better than that overpriced Antec.

Thank you! Refresh the spec with updated pricing from C-zone. Looks okay?

Found this from a Shopee seller with good price and get most of the item available except for the PSU unit (1stplayer steampunk).

Considering that in the next 3-6 months, I will be getting a GPU in the RX6700XT range, which of the below would be the best value/fit? These are the PSUs I found available from their store, around 400-500 range, and also among the similar Tier (Tier-B, I guess? according to the list I found at cultists)

- Adata Core Reactor 750W - RM 469
- Thermaltake Toughpower Grand RGB 650W - RM 399
- FSP Dagger Pro 650W - RM 455
- FSP Hydro G Pro 750W Gold - RM 499
