Anyone encountered this? I'm wondering if it's normal or is there a problem.
I depress the brake pedal then start the car. If I don't release the pedal and press again, it won't allow me to release the handbrake. It's almost as if it doesn't register the brake pedal being depressed. I've only noticed this yesterday. Usually I'd start the engine, release the brake pedal to adjust my seating position, then press again to drive off.
Also, when shifting from reverse to drive with the brake pedas depressed, I can feel a "click" like feeling in the brake pedal. Also just noticed it yesterday.
Any thoughts?
I normally press the brake pedal fully, start the engine, release the parking brake and drive off. But I noticed the behavior you listed above if I had started to slightly lift the brake pedal -
still pressed, but not fully pressed.
In those situations, I normally just leave the parking brake engaged, wear my seatbelts properly, and press on the accelerator pedal - the car will automatically disengage the parking brake, and drive off

Of course, I can also just press the brake pedal again, and disengage the parking brake, but sometime I just let the electronics do the job.
