QUOTE(isr25 @ Mar 13 2020, 05:14 PM) I guess what this means is that I can no longer estimate the fuel price. What I can do is that I can estimate the “true fuel price”, and not what the government will set due to this. I’m sure everyone here is aware why the correct prices are not adjusted. I sort of expected this to happen. |

Well expected, but not this soon and this way...I am more like expecting they later agree on some floor price like 1.50 or 1.60, in between will be market driven But looks like they will have their own rules to set with now Not sure how they gonna game it now, and for sure no transparency there for now |

Do you guys belief this?
"As a measure to stabilise the drop in fuel prices for users and instability in oil produce for the government, the retail prices for both RON95 and diesel have been both reduced to RM1.82 per litre and RM1.87 per litre respectively," the ministry said in a statement Friday (March 13). https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2020...-again#cxrecs_s |

I think they can't afford a drastic drop in petrol price, station owners will lost big money, maybe the new gov want to make a gradual drop on fuel price to soften the impact to stations. let wait for another week and see if my assumption is correct.

QUOTE(senscents @ Mar 13 2020, 08:41 PM) nah...if they not cap others, RON97 should drop more...we are now into a new moment with new "PN" formula...which no one knows yet... my biggest fear now is... the moment the war over....and price recovering... the biz start to make excuse to rise again...its the last bullet to kill everything |

Calculation and table of estimated prices can be found at this link: https://goo.gl/cpYiBN
Sharing with everyone the petrol price as of 15/3 - RON95 should be RM1.40 and RON97 traditionally should be RM1.70. If we follow the previous Automatic Pricing Mechanism and Sales Tax Act, the government is allowed to "tax" us higher by 58.62sen per litre for petrol products sold. As of now, the government is taxing us roughly 42 sen for RON95 and 40 sen for RON97. |
