I think beta can use on rooted box.

Did you get yours working ? I think Astro put in time bomb on the beta app.

I didn't have the app, so cannot try. Moreover, my rooted box is at hometown, can only validate next week.

My main interest is to check if they fix the non-TV friendly issue. Root or non-root is a smaller problem for me.

only 2 things bugging me
1. recommendation at notifications doesn't work
2. voice remote doesnt work

other than this 2, everything else work perfectly

especially the 4K video and able to choose ur the codec!

I think they've updated to v2 (v2.192.2 as shown in Settings), no wonder the v1.1 won't work. Check pm

I don't know i am the only one or there are bros here, installed nox emulator at windows laptop, hook tv with hdmi and install apk and watch straight away

I think it is not a great idea. PC consumes lots of power, and usually got fan, could be noisy too. Cable management and pc is big, it looks messy. Also long hours of usage wears your PC battery.

Tv boxes are cheap. Small size. Consume less power.

Maybe some one can calculate if the electricity consumption difference. Maybe saving on electricity bill can fun the cost of TV box.

Couldn't agree more on power consumption. Actually i am on trying stage. I got a low power consump. Laptop with intel U series processor, so i give it a try. But in terms of connectivity and stability, i found no issues running an emulator and watch tvbox contents.

And also very messy. Where are you putting the PC ? If you put PC next to TV, short cable, but when you want to change apk and click on PC, how ? If you put PC next to you, you will have long cable running from TV to PC.

perhaps he put with a docking station beside TV and control laptop with air mouse or wireless keyboard+mouse.
