Hi all sifu here, I'm new to Android TV Box and below are my questions:
a) wondering can I watch online free for:
- new/old English / Chinese movies, animation (cartoon)
- China/Taiwan TV channel
- what other channels that I can watch?

b) Just need to install apps and then can enjoy all the free tv/movies?
Do I need to root/subscribe?

c) How about those Astro channel? Need to subscribe? Are they legal? 
Anyone can give me the link to above unit? What is this TV Box so special and recommended?
Is it support at least 2K video and DTS 5.1 Audio and above?
BTW, RMVB file able to play, right?

Moving to a new house, just brought 4K UHD Smart TV. I'm a 9-5 worker, thus not a heavy TV watcher. Not a gamer either.

Now considering buying an android tv box, so i can avoid subscribe to Astro. Will subscribe with Unifi later.

2) Minix Neo U9-H
3) A5X Max+

I read the thread and comment's for several pro and cons. Considering to buy A5X Max+, but hard to find a review for it. Moreover, most review say that i need more than 10mbps of wifi for smooth viewing.

Any advise is appreciate.

Hi,I need some advise on the astro go app which I have installed on my minix u1. The app seems to keep restarting randomly. I wonder if it's the problem with the app or the box. Does anyone who have the app on the same box experience the same? Thanks in advance for your input.

I'm using the same box and using AOTG. I hardly have issue with AOTG, I think only once I forced to exit the app because it cannot play any videos. Other than that, it is doing good.

Where did you download the app? It cannot be installed from Google Play if I'm not mistaken, I sideloaded the app myself.

It would help if you stated what version is currently installed.

I do use AOTG in my xiaomi box but it is older version. 8.1.2.4 if not mistaken. Only problem is the search show for e.g Singing contest either THe voice or Singer 2018 can't play on xiaomi box. What's version you are using and doesn't it work on searched movies/shows?

I have also sideloaded the app, don't really remember from which site.. already been using since December 2017 and noticed the frequency of app restarting more often recently.
I'm using version 8.1.75.
It seems to happen more often when I'm watching searched videos / on demand shows.

I have to go back to check which version I'm using...

I didn't search but I can watch on demand videos with no issue.
I will check out my version when I'm back at home tonight.

Add on: I just noticed the latest version is 8.1.93, I just installed and it's still working good.

I received my minix Neo u1 this morning. Tested Astro go. Works very well. For Unifi Tv it show unable to play. Any one facing this issue?

I can use it with UniFi TV.

Why version you use? Phone or tablet? I tried both also same.
