Sure it can be a problem for some.

But crouching tiger and hidden dragon, I am sure quite a few here will not have problem with it.

I am actually quite tempted hence my earlier question on another Japan fund which doesn’t require such huge amount from AffinHwang

Maybe you can plot them superimposed on the FSM graph and look at performance.

There is another one from Eastspring (also wholesale fund) you can consider. Problem is that FSM does not allow two wholesale funds to be plotted together.

The wholesale fund has a way superior returns but it’s still relatively new with lesser than 3 years data.

Some of these funds might be feeder or different currency hedge which caused them to look young. I am looking at Japan as additional diversification because too heavy in China and yet other countries aren't doing that well.

Diversify into Japan market is good.... hmm.gif
But usually rules of thumb is not more than 10% of portfolio into a single-country fund.... sweat.gif
So this fund min is 10k, meaning it only make sense if your portfolio is 100k and above... sweat.gif

Not skillful in pushing out screenshots and here is the text version :-

Fund Name Total Returns3 yr Annualised Volatility(%) Min NAV Max NAV Current NAV
United Japan Discovery Fund - MYR Hedged 52.16% N/A 0.4841 0.7658 0.7658(07/11/2017)
Affin Hwang World Series - Japan Growth Fund 35.65% 15.34 0.5881 0.8314 0.8314(07/11/2017)
Eastspring Investments Japan Dynamic MY Fund - MYR Hedged 36.43% N/A 0.4493 0.6123 0.6118 (08/11/2017)

So it's clear that the United Japan Discover Fund is the winner in ROI. If wholesale 10k is too heavy for diversification, can consider AH.

Ponzi 2  - 10%
EI Dynasti - 10%

Is this allocation good enough to start? all covered?

Sorry if I get you confused. What I mean is does it diversify enough?
*
is it diversify enough?
tough question.....
nothing is enough....everyone and anyone can gives his/her opinion at a risk appetite, outlook and sentiment at that moment.
ex....lacked GEM, India, US (non tech sector), Europe, Japan, etc, etc
also even it maybe diversified enough, but the % of allocation to each of them may not have big impact.....

thus Sui Jau's post comes in to play liao.
