Interpac fund manager is the same as previous RHB FM. Also leopards don't change their spots. At rhb, he invest in u-li. Now come to interpac, also invest in u-li. whistling.gif

hmm.gif
is that "good manager" a new player in this field?
if NO, then before he/she came into Interpac...where was he/she worked in?

Was he/she in the same field of work?
if YES, what happened to those funds he/she managed?
hmm.gif

Good and bad.. all index keep hitting high. It's hard to make big top up. Just small small one every month. Hard to rebalance

My Malaysia exposure getting higher which I don't want it to happen. My Malaysia exposure is through share.

not sure about the others but I consider my epf and stocks to be my Malaysian exposure hence why I avoid being too Malaysian centric in my unit trust

What exactly is the u-li fiasco ? Did the fund manager created a jjptr fiasco and he can't contain it any further and so he had to leave, or he left then the jjptr fiasco is resulted ?

as they say don't put all your eggs in one basket. I do like unit trust but it's kinda boring just investing into it and letting it flourish.

stocks on the other hand offer that adrenaline rush esp when you tap on the buy button and pray to every deity in heaven that you didn't make a mistake esp keying in how many lots you need. a veteran over in stocks exchange keyed in one digit difference and that one digit can mean a 20k myr

also there's the dividends. all fun fun. we'll until you screw up.

Sharpe & Risk-Return Ratios: What Are Those?

When it comes to selecting a unit trust, its performance should not be the only factor that investors take into account. The fund's risk level is also a crucial consideration. FSM explain how investors can evaluate a fund's risks.

Two Ratios to Measure a Fund’s Risk Factor
When it comes to selecting a fund, investors should look at both risk and return. Return is easily shown in the fund’s historical performance but risk is harder to ascertain. It is, however, very important as it is possible to lose all your money in a risky fund. Here, we provide two measures to evaluate riskiness of a fund.

just to add: Risk rating indicators are measuring indicators NOT a portfolio construction tools

be advised this is way difficult than UT. this is a product of many homework and research and worrying that what if you chose the wrong counter and stand to lose 60% of your capital and it doesn't appreciate. unlike it all you have is measly returns if you made the wrong call

all the time but as Xuzen pointed out its best if you avoid new funds until you have enough data from the fund to judge it. it's better allocating your time and money into well tested funds. given a few years who knows those funds will outperform your old ones.
