one is a Malaysia Focused fund and the other is Asia Pacific focused fund......

both regions are good to have in the portfolio

why do you want dividend distribution? do you know that dividend distribution in unit trust is not stock dividend payout.
in unit trust, dividend distributions/unit splits does not increase the value of your money before or after the distribution....

Yeah they are both focused on different regions. Which do you think is a better region to enter now?

I plan using either one of these funds to be my core and slowly branch out to other tactical funds.

Agreed.

China and Asia in general still looks bad. Malaysia seems trying to get better but still can go either way too. US I safest bet but what if it's the top already? So might not be wise to go in too... Conclusion stay out?

stay out yes. MY market lol. KLCO won't go beyond 1850 by year end. even 1800 also hard to maintain. Budget incoming so you know la since our FM said very gloom prospect.
in the mean time can squeeze juice for construction of new port formation after GFC.

Based on Maybank's market outlook, they categorize Asia as overweight for mid to long term holdings. ohmy.gif

Not just Maybank....other local Fund houses and even FSM is saying thumbup.gif thumbup.gif
but I think, some of the most important things to ask are "Do You?", "What do you thing about the bearish asia markets that had been happening since early Feb?" "Do you think they have bottomed out?" "Do you thing they have more bottom to hits?"

Or they Asia Pacific bull come again.

Haha, interesting opinions rclxms.gif

Just wondering, if you were given zero sales charge, would you still bite the bullet and purchase a fund or just wait it out for a better time and forgo the zero sales charge? blink.gif

I was waiting for this feature,...but their FAQ is still "You can sell the portfolio on any business day as well, only full sell of the entire investment amount is allowed." confused.gif

I have access to zero sales charge 24/7 and I am still not biting. Price wise still too pricey for my liking.

Never focus on sales charge. If you feel is cheap now, by all means go ahead and buy. If not, just wait la.
