heard somewhere, some time ago....they will make % of money it sell to the investors...which are given by the fund houses.....

from trailer fee aka management fee splitting. Remember the 1.5% management fee that is levied by the fund houses to the unit-holder? Well, they split 0.25% to 0.4%. If popular fund, then is 0.25%, if unpopular fund where they need to "push" the AUM, then perhaps they may give 0.4%.

see YTD roi of some of the once popular funds that are being held by forummers

btw....my port is almost flat MOM for this month.........which is also 3 months almost flat readings

Managed port is +0.1% MOM....
many of the funds inside are starting to make abit of $$
with that...looks like it cannot withstand some shake down

I bought United Japan Discovery on 29 Jan 2018....just a day before the start of the markets slide of this year.....
exactly 8 months later......this fund is beginning to make money.....RM1 as of 29 Sept.
will it continue to be or will it make me ?

I hate this waiting period. Not a real crash but not a good market either. Holding so much cash at the moment. Don't know what to do with it.

Portfolio down -1% in September compared to August.

I hold Affin Hwang Japan Growth Fund since Dec 2017. Now got 2% profit, yeah it's worse than FD but I'm still happy to keep it!

Holding bond funds instead of just holding cash is a good choice now as it does stabilize my portfolio, help to reduce the loses
