In the month of July 2018, it was a good month for my port. The biggest contributor would be TA Tech ( Mainly US exposed ) & Eastspring Equity Income ( KLCI large cap )

My port made a gain of 2% M-o-M.

Having said that at the end of the month, I took profit by switching the excess into more defensive UTF such as AmReits, Affin-Hwang Asia-Pac ( x-Jp ) Dividend fund. Mainly I am going into AmReits for its relative low volatility. I exited all from Eastspring Dinasti. I do not want to expose to such high volatile UTF. Until that crazy Trump and China sort out their trade issue, I'll stay away from this nonsense.

I realized most fund in June cash out a substantial amount. Some like AH, goes to the extreme of holding cash up to 20-30% of the entire fund...

wow, good observation...
thanks for sharing...
btw,...do you keep track of managed port too?
it looks to me they are heavier into bond (diversified bonds).
More % of bond compared to few months ago? (moderately aggressive port)
I may be wrong...I just agar agar guess.

Anyway to answer your question is, no i didnt keep track for managed as i only realized this as i was updating the excel file Fund Allocation portion. So i only keep track of my own fund allocation proportions...

too much funds for me (but need depends on your total invested amount also, if few hundred k then is fine , if less than 100k i guess is too much)

if u lump sump invest on may 2013 till now, i guess u need change the way u choose fund cause less than 6% IRR is quite not okay for me (its another story if u got continuously top up during this few years)

May 2013 till Aug 2016....focusing on achieving max ROI....heavy into sector/countries.....(was in at 1 year 75% of port was M'sian Small Cap) .....placed wrong bet either too late or bailed out too soon.

since then try to be much moderate side

thus would not be focusing on past performance or IRR.... past actions resulted in current ROI/IRR.....it is what one think and going to do next that is important.

is the a share really cheap now.

I highly doubt all the research done by fsm research team. so far the fund recommend by them never show any improvement in months. in fact keep going down.

KAF? Compared to peers, he drop a lot.

EMB? Really joke. since last recommendation till now already drop 7. this is right after their fund of the month. what research they have done?

Esther? after they recommend, USD strengthening. for months.

LOL

Managed portfolio all below benchmarks. expt the Conservative port.

they don't even have the gut to make any tech fund to be fund of the month..
