Anyone with bad experience with tint solution in kuchai lama?Thx
*
Just came from tint solution and would like to share my bad experience with tint solution kuchai lama.
I brought their package from Groupon, http://www.groupon.my/deals/klang-valley-k...ution/717703693 and made appointment with them at 2pm today. Understand that there will be no quality assurance as I brought a cheap tint package hence I will not comment on it but I am quite satisfy with the quality for the price I paid.

The biggest problem with tint solution kuchai lama is the attitude of their staff.

1) when redeeming the voucher I was introduced to upgrade to better package for rm200 - rm300. Once rejected the package, the staff (i believe name kar wai) face straightaway go black and telling me rudely that its up to you because it's cheaper if you upgrade now. Then I told her i am happy with the side and back windows heat rejection in the package and I don't want to waste money just because front tint heat rejections is 58%. I continue telling her That I will tint 2nd layer for front in future. She reply that I can't tint 2nd layer and I will need to remove old one which will be an additional charges. Come on, I hv friends tint multiple layer. As long as the bottom layer tint well, it will be good.
2) Today I reach 1pm although my appointment is at 2pm, but they started to work on my car only around 4:30pm. I am wondering why they ask the customer to make appointment since they cannot adhere to it. Might as well telling the customer 1st come 1st serve basis.
3)inform by them around 5pm that they are unable to remove my old backscreen tint (old tint is gold dust). I ask them why and answer given to me was that because it is unable to remove sweat.gif then I ask why can't it be remove since all other windows is able to remove. is the screen use special glue? and a guy intercept and told me by right tint should be remove once it reach 5yrs. So I ask him does it means that all tint lifespan is 5yrs? And why outside in the market there are tint offering 7 to 10yrs warranty? Then he continue telling me no one drive a car for 10yrs doh.gif I straightaway brush him off by telling him I drive my car 13yrs (a nissan cefiro A32) and what do you mean no one drive a car for 10yrs? Moreover average malaysian drive a car for 10yrs due to loan period. Immediately he just walk away rudely and the lady talked to me earlier start to raise her voice telling me to remove my old tint at the place I installed it then come back to them for rear screen tinting. I could not bear with her tone and therefore I raise my voice intentionally brows.gif and demand for a more proper answer instead of lame excuses

Although i have some problem with some idiotic and lame staff, Luckily there is still a staff name crystal who have the patient to explain to me on the problem and give me advise on what I should do with the rear screen tint. As you can see the service level that they are providing is so low. you may try your luck to get better service by paying the tint in full price but I literally doubt they will provide better service! Furthermore I do not agree that if you are paying cheap you will get stupid service. I AM STILL PAYING! AND IF YOU CAN DO SUCH THING, I DON'T THINK YOU WILL ABLE TO GET A GOOD AFTER SALES SERVICE!

BTW, before I left the workshop at 6:30pm, notice a guy still waiting for his car and he actually came at 2pm doh.gif
Hope this help future consumer biggrin.gif

Come on, I hv friends tint multiple layer. As long as the bottom layer tint well, it will be good.

The upgrade to better package is a marketing plan  tongue.gif . Normally we do not advise to tint 2nd layer on the FWS because

1. 1st layer need to be remove otherwise warranty is void.
2. Even if you put 2nd layer on top the 1st layer, your FWS will become blur and hazzy due to the thickness of the 1st and 2nd layer. It will affect your FWS visibility when you are driving at night.
3. Double layer only can apply on the side windows and BWS. Why? Because of the glass difference, the FWS is laminating glass while all the side and back is tempered glass.

I hope you understand this point.

They failed to arrange the installation time period properly.

This is bullshit, all the film can be remove even it is more than 10 years. But sometimes when we remove the BWS tint, it might spoil the demister.

A good day to everyone here. I'm in the midst of purchasing a new car namely, the new Mazda 6 Wagon and would like to get some quotations from you guys. Currently, I've narrowed it down to 3 brands :- VKool, Raytech and 3M.

Could lonely143 please pm me on the ballpark amount and a list of your certified installers? I am thinking of something with good UV protection for front and back windscreen (VKool Elite) while 4mm protection for the sides. Thank you so much biggrin.gif

Also, could Lord Gitsy pm me your quotation and your installer around PJ area. Thank you in advance.

Can offer to finish at 1-2 hours doesnt mean the workmanship is bad... we usually have 4 people to handle a car, 2 handle front, 2 handle back, can finish 1 hour also smile.gif

even with extra man power
i'm still not sure how can 4 ppl manage within 1 hour?
no need to say the window cleaning part...just say the rear screen
did u remove the demister line before u apply the tint?
and how long did u use the heatgun to dry the tint?
because when both of my car went tinting.....when i got it, it was in perfect condition
he even say theres still some bubble but i can't see it
those experienced ones...only do 2-3 car per day only(30-40 years experience)

Its very rare to see 4 ppl manage 1 car. Normally we set 2 person in team.
The time taken to complete the whole car affected by few reason such as

1. Experience
2. Size of the car windows
3. Difficulty

From my experience, Honda City vs VW Beetle. Although the windows size is almost the same but
VW Beetle will take up to 4 hours to tint while Honda City only need about 2 hours.

By the way, the demister line can not be remove. We have to apply film on the demister.

However, I always advice customer do not rush us and give us sufficient time to complete the tint on the car.

i got 2 car
tinted at 5 years apart by 2 different sifu from 2 different shop
both shop very reputable...most rich ppl will go there
2 ppl handle 1 car...they only accept/do 2-3 car a day only(need booking...the waiting list is quite long)
when i tell them...those "shop" can finish within 45min-1/2 hour...even he laugh...he say impossible
both of my car also remove the demister only install the tint...hence the time needed
and they really got patient to slowly dry the tint using heat gun which the outcome also amaze me...so nice
BTW...both are uncle in their 50s...have 30-40 years of experience...not youngsters
and my car went in 8AM...i only got back my car 3-4PM
thats why i really dn't trust those ppl who say can finish in 1 hour

P/S..i didn't install those RM3k V-kool, huper optik or 3M...my tint is RM1400 good brand only

I never heard it can be remove blink.gif

The price of consumer willing to pay is equal to QUALITY not time consuming biggrin.gif
Are you saying that we, VKool can do faster if you willing to pay more?

I just recently did Llumar Diamond 6 for my Mazda 6.

Feedback: Product is good, not very black tint though easily see through the car.
The Pros :In compliance with Jpj and covers warranty for 10 years. Have no issue with Smart tag.
Cons: Expensive, cost me RM2600 which i think it could be cheaper if you survey other branches. Just go it in PJ because it is near my place and didn't want any hassle.

Workmanship: Not really good, youngsters doing the job, sloppy installation. I would suggest you go to another place. (went to the Llumar outlet at Damansara Utama, same row as Marie France Bodyline)
