QUOTE(Visualize @ Jan 2 2009, 02:09 AM) I'm curious. Since you're from Penang, what've you heard about PMC on their quality of education? Any others who know? I wanna know bout the pros/cons. Hmm, I am so sorry with lack of info here. The only thing I know about PMC is that they are expensive. So far, I have not heard of anybody complaining about the quality of their education. This post has been edited by zzzzx: Jan 2 2009, 02:23 AM |

I see.. But the fees are comparable with Monash.
Monash-around 500k PMC- around 550k In terms of quality, I wonder which is better. Are you planning to enrol in Monash? |

Well, may I know why did ya choose Monash instead of PMC since their fees are comparable? Surely there must be some reasons, no?

Hmm if I were given a chance (disregarding the fees/friends) then I would probably pick PMC because it is near my house and they offer twinning program. I have no idea about the quality of education of PMC and Monash so I cant comment on that, sorry. |

But the fees are comparable with Monash. monash fees is lower, at 40k/semester = 400k over 5 years........it is wholly conducted locally, and is thus the most expensive local medical programme..........pmc programme requires the 1st 2 years to be done in ireland........Monash-around 500k PMC- around 550k In terms of quality, I wonder which is better. Are you planning to enrol in Monash? |

With Sterling Pound at RM5, you should seriously consider doing the degree in UK because it will only cost about RM100K more over 5 yrs.

I reckon with everything in, study in one of the cheaper UK university is about RM600+K whereas in Monash Malaysia would be RM500+K for the entire 5 yrs course. Hence the "RM100K more" calculation.most uk med school fees only are about pounds sterling 20k/year.... This post has been edited by Optiplex330: Jan 2 2009, 01:22 PM |

One question....
Don't you think studying medicine anywhere is the same? Because after graduate you still have to be a houseman in Malaysia, no matter you study in local or overseas and how much you pay... Unless you want to work overseas. And the time you really learn to become a doctor is actually when you become a houseman... |

(example: malaria is uncommon in Europe, Frostbite is uncommon in southeast Asia) |
