3. Card required for: Overseas and dining spending. Overseas Lounge access. Cash Back preferred but points/airmiles also okay.

4. Existing credit cards (if any): Maybank 2 Gold, Maybank Ikhwan Amex, Bank Rakyat Explorer, SC Journey (recently canceled as could meet 60k annual spend).

5. Interested in CC from: AmBank Enrich Platinum, HLB Visa Infinite, CIMB PETRONAS Visa Infinite, Alliance Visa Infinite.

Looking for situ's help on which is best card to go for and if any that i might have missed.

Anyone using Bank Islam Visa Platinum cashback card? I don't understand how their cashback is calculated. Lodged a Complaint since mid Sep and until now, not a single call back or email to fix the issue.

Aug bill total: 677.44, closing bal: 658.84, cashback 18.6
Sep bill total: 744.78, closing bal: 724.74, cashback 20.04
Oct bill total: 1003.92 closing bal: 979.77, cashback 24.15

I was assuming it's 3% of total bill amount but calculations seems off. Anyone has any idea how the cashback is calculated?

define "calculations seems off", from what your expectation. 3% from total spending?


how about other variations of calculations?

1) 3% cb per transactions, then sum up all cb amount? else...

2) 3% cb per transaction, then round down first, then sum up all cb? else, try round up and sum all cb? else...

2) any txn posted after statement date?


per t&c: "3.13 Transaction performed during current month cycle, but late presentment will be excluded from Cash Back computation for that current month cycle."

Based on calendar month, not statement month.

You'll see this Cash Back in your statement, and the SEP includes all transactions posted in September

I have been using Bank Islam Visa Platinum for > 6 months.
cb is on time every month at 10th of the month @ 3% of spend of previous month.
cb cyble is based on calendar month, not statement date.
just stating the obvious - only online / auto-billing / grocery / dining spend is entitled for cb.

How soon do you get the call from bank staff after submitting your form and documents online? I've submitted my application online but until now, the application status is Unattended

I am not sure, but I will try to avoid any transactions one day before my statement date, not just with Bank Islam.

within 1 -2 days time after apply through MAP. My MAP currently show status : Auto transfer". not sure what does that mean but the staff I liaise with(through whatsapp) said they will process my application this week
