How about Maybank Ikhwan + AEON BiG Classic/Gold + CIMB CR? The first gives you 5% petrol cashback on Friday and Saturday. The second gives you 5% on Sunday only. The third gives you 2% cashback on any day. If you pump full tank on Sunday night and can survive until Friday, then you can easily get 5% for the entire month by timing your fuel ups. But if you fail to do so, at least you'll get 2% cashback from CIMB CR.

Maybank Ikhwan and CIMB CR has no annual fee. AEON BiG Classic/Gold does have an annual fee, but it can be automatically waivered with 12 swipes in a year.

I already suggested Maybank Ikhwan Petronas which gives 8% on Saturdays and Sundays but only limited to Petronas.

Hi Team,

Sorry for the lazy way to drop the question here.

What card gives the best % rebate for these below since the Posonline case is being dragged for sometime;

- All other adhoc payments beside the norm, groceries, petrol, bills
- Direct/Auto Debit facilities such as gym memberships/insurance

I got a feeling we might be looking at 2-3 separate cards to get some rebates from the above.

Thanks

AmBank Carz only gives higher cash back if you don't pay full every month, you will be penalized with interest though.
Ikhwan cards are good for you, at least you can pump during weekends and last you few days during weekdays. Then, if you really want, UOB One Plat with AF though, first year is free. Citibank Cash Back also with AF but first year is free.
Or 2% CIMB Cash Rebate plat, no AF.

Looks like Maybank Islamic PETRONAS Ikhwan Visa Gold Card-i fit my needs than Ambank Carz.
"8% Cash Back on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and 1% Cash Back on weekdays (Monday to Friday) for every PETRONAS spend. (capped at RM 50 per month)"
Just curious, is there a cc that have higher cash back if pump petrol during weekdays (Mon to Fri)? I usually pump petrol during weekdays hmm.gif

Cards like UOB and CIMB have card promos on certain items on fixed day. CIMB on Mondays while UOB on Tuesdays. So if apply CIMB CR, you will get additional 5% and UOB YOLO will get 6% cash back on top of those promos. Not forgetting if you also purchase via links from Shopback, you will get some cash back (not much though).

I will feel CIMB CR is a better generic card minus dining expenses. Not specific for this case.

propose post #2 template to be enhanced to include average monthly spending for each spending category so that better/appropriate card(s) can be recommended that suits the user...

example from inquiries at post #81...

3. Card required for: Rough estimated usage of Petrol (RM200/month), Dining (RM200/month), Groceries (RM200/month), Movies/Online (RM100/month)

Reason for recommending MACH is, it can be custom selected for the additional category you want in addition to the base package. Especially with the dining category which is likely to be utilized by everyone.

the quota is insufficient for groceries?
alternatively, can consider CIMB Cash Rebate.

1. Annual Income: RM45K above

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: a MUST

3. Card required for: Petrol, online, dining, movie

4. Existing credit cards (if any): Citibank Shell card (Planning to terminate by year end since they have already charged me after 1 year 1 day. vmad.gif )

5. Others: Only looking for CASHBACK + annual waiver.

- The one I think fits into my category are Maybank and CIMB cash back.
- Won't be spending more than 2k so HLB is kind of out of question, plus they have annual fee.
- Have installment with HLB.
