PVR requires 2 satellite cables (RG6 cable) to be connected to your dish, so your LNB needs to be changed to the one that can connect 2 cables. Normal LNB only can connect 1 cable.

If you have concealed cabling and wiring second cable is not convenient for you, you may opt for SatCR where you can use your existing 1 cable for your PVR to work (it function just like combining 2 cables into 1). However, SatCR costs RM53.

You can still continue using your satellite dish.

I m ok to pay small fees of installation as long as not higher than RM100.

But I more scary that after change decoder pvr, then need to pay additional monthly fees so called "pvr" services.

Upgrade to PVR also means you need to subscribe to HD+PVR service (RM26.50/month)

Do note that PVR is included as "free" if you subscribe to HD service.

It is RM26.50/month (incl. GST) for both HD+PVR service. Since Aug 2016, HD service also included PVR service.

Force migrate to MPEG4 for SD channels will result ALL Astro customers using legacy Astro boxes to force migrate to B.yond box as well, because legacy Astro boxes is an old tech that does not support MPEG4.

Indonesia pay TV market is different because they have too many competitors already.

Say I have one TV in the living room and one TV in masterbedroom.

Anyway to watch astro on these (2) TVs with only 1 decoder ?

Heard about some wireless module whereby no need to use cable that can connect to the second TV.

You do aware that Animax don't have "native 16:9" feed. But Animax has HD feed.
Even if Astro wants it to be 16:9, that means Astro got to deal an agreement with Sony Pictures Television Networks to buy HD feed of Animax, so it is equivalent to offering Animax in HD quality if Astro wants...

Yes... The only way for them to get 16:9 feed is get HD feed.
How they get the HD feed, it depends whether the agreement between Astro and Sony Pictures Television Network, got include SD and HD, or only SD.

If the agreement doesn't include HD feed, then it is equivalent that Astro got to make a new agreement to buy/pay more to get HD feed.

So at the end of the day, it is still involving about money. This is why some subscription channels still has SD and HD feed instead of simulcast feed in HD quality.

As of now, those 3 channels are only made available exclusively on Astro on the Go platform.
No update on whether it will be available on Astro TV platform.

28.2.2017 will be the last day Astro have exclusive satellite tv licence. Hoping for a healthy competition like Indonesia in pay tv sector after this.

Most likely extended cos there will be NO more satelite provider in msia. What we are concerned is the end to exclusivity game where deals hv been made with providers that they remain with asstro,we want an end to that! We will never see a situation like Indon or Thailand cos here its a game of cronies and the govt is directly involved. Many hv also lost interest cos paytv is too expensive,we rather pay RM200 for good internet then for paytv which is just a recycle bin

Still got hope for the exclusivity to end tomorrow.

Astro is Tun M's crony.

By considering the latest development of internal politics now, there is a possibility that the exclusivity deal is to be ended.

Infact Tun M and AK's time in astro is over now its about 30% owned by BN thru khazanah nasional which holds major shares in big money making companies enough to control and make sure profits! New players were all sent out,and most likely it will be another goal for asstro!
