Any idea what is the name of such device?

Thanks

There are a few types. Wireless AV extender, RCA composite splitter , TV coaxial RF cable and etc. SOme even can do with HD.

But if you go Jalan Pasar, you do not need to mention all this which might make them lagi confuse. Just tell them you want to watch Astro with different TV will do.

Yeah. But still no new competitor to go with satellite yet. No news about government with satellite exclusive licence extend. Too early to be happy about it. smile.gif

We hope atleast HyppTV can go with IPTV & Satellite broadcast to compete with Astro. The infrastructure to use Satellite cost too much money to start. And don't forget that Astro some exclusive channel still have exclusive contract.
Newcomer is welcome. Maybe in 2017 or 2020. Then we can expect Astro desperate promo with new cheap price coming soon. biggrin.gif drool.gif rclxm9.gif

No use la because our people loves to watch Astro Ria , Ceria and many other in house gooding show like MLM to broadcast best Malaysia comedy show LIVE & EXCLUSIVE only available on Astro in-house rojak channel. doh.gif laugh.gif

Well if TM contracts with Asia Sat/ Palapa/ Thaisat/ Indosat etc which cover Malaysia, I think TM does not have to launch their own Satellite. So may be they can cut their cost there and offer channels that are available on those satellites? Just like Aora TV and Astro Indonesia (both are now dead) use satellite feed from Measat (Astro) without the need to launch their own satellite.

Hi there,

Is it possible to subscribe to multiroom, but bring the additional decoder to a high rise building with centralized dish for use?

Upgrade to PVR also means you need to subscribe to HD+PVR service (RM26.50/month)

Do note that PVR is included as "free" if you subscribe to HD service.

hi all.. is there any promotion going on that offer genuinely 'Free' PVR service.. I received call from them last Monday but since Im driving that time I asked the caller to call me back.. but now they emailed me about the installation date already.. from what I remember during Monday short phone conversation, they said it is offered free bcoz im on HD service already..

any comments.. t.Q guys

edit : I just called the Mrktg Upselling Dept to confirm this and they said there no increase in monthly charges... no installation fees...installer will change (or replace) the decoder..and contract period will restart again for 2 years starting the installation day.. hmm.gif hmm.gif

Yes. Starting August 2016, HD service (RM26.50/month) will include PVR service on top of it, which is now known as HD+PVR Service, so all customers that subscribes to HD service (regardless of new or existing customers) are eligible to have PVR service for free, including Value Packs customers. With the condition of, you have to change to PVR box. Even if you don't change, you'll be still paying RM26.50/month for HD service without PVR service even if you can enjoy PVR for free. However, Family HD (RM18.02/month) customers are not eligible.

As for the installation fee, it depends on your package subscription. Naturally, for those that paying a lot a month, you are more likely to get free installation for upgrading to PVR. For those who pay not so much like me (under RM100), I need to pay RM150 for PVR installation fee.

To use PVR functions, your STB needs to be replaced to PVR box. The latest PVR box looks like this:

If you wonder, is there any catch? Erm, basically no. But based on what I assume, one of the reason they make PVR as a free service for HD customers is because of the OD feature. You know OD? The advertisement that keep annoy you, saying "Connect your PVR to your home Wi-Fi" and you can enjoy lots of programmes, bla bla bla... Prior to this, only for those that subscribe and have PVR box can access OD feature, and the problem is, the number of customers having PVR box is way lesser than customers subscribed to HD. That's why they want more customers to use PVR box to have access to OD feature. Solution? Make PVR service free for HD customers.

OD can somehow benefit them, because OD contains paid content as well. Let say there is a programme or PPV (pay-per-view) content interests you on OD library, but you need to pay to watch it. So the customer will tend to subscribe it, which eventually you are paying more money to Astro.

And also, by upgrading to PVR box, the advantage for Astro is that, you are committed to stay with Astro service for the next 2 years as your 24 months contract will restart/start. Terminating Astro during this period will incur penalty charges, of course.
