There's a channel preview for Mustika pack from 17-23 Feb 2017. Applicable to all Astro customers except Family Lite customers and Njoi.
*
You're so lucky. NJOI customers are not available to preview Mustika Pack, they gave NJOI customers to buy Mustika Pack from 17 February 2017 to 5 May 2017 and get addition 15 days!!

Anyone having problem viewing channel 703 (Asian Food Channel)? I always getting Service Unavailable like during rain. Other channels are ok though.

Yes of course you can. But free upgrade, I don't think so. Perhaps need to pay some installation fee.

They really go all out with HD. Maybe Astro Satellite is next. Removing SD counterpart and only left with HD channel.

the subscriber without HD service will loss many ch if that really happen. i guess they will stay simulcast the SD channel for sattlelite but they will force subscriber to upgrade byond. Maybe all SD channel will be only availble in Mpeg4 in the future.

HD service in Astro IPTV is FREE!!
And here on Satellite we pay more than RM25/month!!
Just force migrate to MPEG4 la Astro! Look Indonesia already move their format to compete with other satellite pay tv.
doh.gif laugh.gif

Here no rivals. So can just relax and give expensive package. laugh.gif

PVR requires 2 satellite cables (RG6 cable) to be connected to your dish, so your LNB needs to be changed to the one that can connect 2 cables. Normal LNB only can connect 1 cable.

If you have concealed cabling and wiring second cable is not convenient for you, you may opt for SatCR where you can use your existing 1 cable for your PVR to work (it function just like combining 2 cables into 1). However, SatCR costs RM53.

You can still continue using your satellite dish.

Astro can only fully migrate to MPEG4 for SD channels once they really plan to discontinue use of legacy Astro boxes, so all customers that still using legacy Astro boxes must get their STB replaced to at least a B.yond HD box if they wish to continue watching Astro. Bear in mind that upgrading STB to B.yond HD box does not mean you must pay extra every month by subscribing to HD. Of course, the customer service will try their best to convince you to subscribe HD (because if you agree to do so, they will get commission) by saying all sort of stuff such as "why upgrade to B.yond box but don't want HD?". So if you subscribe to HD, Astro will ultimately earn more money.

So basically, you don't need to think/feel that replacing your legacy Astro box to new B.yond box is a bad thing, UNLESS:

i) You plan to cancel Astro soon because upon upgraded to B.yond HD box, you will get 12 mths contract. Or 24 mths for PVR box.

ii) Not willing to pay for installation fee, range from RM50 to RM150, depending on promotions and your subscription. Sometimes can be free too.

iii) You plan to do something "not so legal" such as card sharing or take your Astro smart card and insert to someone else's Astro box because you subscribe more channels than him/her. brows.gif

iv) You prefer to use old technology stuff.

I believe that one day it will happen where HD service will be included as part of Astro subscription (in other words, free/no additional charges). It is just a matter of when.

Most of pay TVs around the world already included HD service (customer no need to pay extra for it). Same goes to Hypp TV and also the ABNxcess (no longer in service).

Astro still put HD service as if it is a premium service that customers would need to pay extra for it. Why? Well... Astro has no competitors, they can do anything they like to make sure they keep gain profit, APRU keep rising, etc.

It is RM26.50/month (incl. GST) for both HD+PVR service. Since Aug 2016, HD service also included PVR service.

Force migrate to MPEG4 for SD channels will result ALL Astro customers using legacy Astro boxes to force migrate to B.yond box as well, because legacy Astro boxes is an old tech that does not support MPEG4.

Indonesia pay TV market is different because they have too many competitors already.
