Which asus router you using? i need to check with the asus router emulator, As i checked the AC66U emulator, it cant set in this way.

The alternative way is if you got a N router, you can configure as AP and connect to the Hypptv port on your asus router if cant set the wifi assign IPTV on wifi. I never try it yet, but i think its should work.

Or buy a powerline adapter.
*
My Asus router is RT-AC55UHP (this model kind of rarely mentioned and very few support available online), I also can't find any way to assign VLAN tagging on it's Wi-Fi.

Actually I have a pair of TP-Link TL-PA201 power adapter, and it was working before, but then it stopped working after I didn't use it for a while. Not sure why it stopped working and not dare to buy a new pair because I haven't confirmed if the adapter not working or the wiring problem.

I thought they said "Double the speed, half the price"?

Looks like at the moment, we can only see it's double the speed but not doing anything in halving the price.

Sure a good deal. For the current promotion I pay less RM 10. My true intention for upgrade is to get 100 Mbps for next year so I am paying less for extra Mbps. What I am worried about is I will not get the upgrade.

First, the terms and condition clearly stated  that free upgrade is for Old Trafford Promo in conjunction to PM announcement. Anything earlier than that might be considered by TM la. But for the mean time, the bold statement is for that particular promo before end of 31st Dec 2016.

Secondly the TM telemarketer did told me I am eligible for the free upgrade. But currently my area are not supported with 100 Mbps. The highest package is 50 Mbps but still do not in 2017 how it is gonna be. And I am using FTTH right now. So I am afraid that I keep my hope too high and in the end of the day my unit aren't eligible for upgrade because of that so called TECHNICAL PROBLEM. And I cannot revert back to previous plan because of the terms and conditions for the new package, TIDAK BOLEH DITURUNTARAF ke pakej yang lebih rendah. So I end up paying more  while the rest of 28 Mbps clubbers are enjoying the same bandwidth as I do for much less fee.
But what I am thinking of right now (since many of us asked should I apply unifi now or next year), Why TM make a statement of "Upgrade before 31st December 2016, and get free upgrade by next year"? Since it is 2017 budget, doesn't that mean the free upgrade must be on for the whole year of 2017 or at least till PM announce 2018 budget? So if you apply next year also, you will get the speed that you intended to get la kan.. By right.
Double the speed, price remain
TM Rewards will be remain until it expire. Every points have its expire date

QUOTE(lyc1982 @ Dec 19 2016, 03:44 PM)
maybe in another 50 years or so...for cutting half the price
30mbps free upgrade to 50mbps with same price...it won't disintegrate your modem or pc...don't worry
*
next year only double the speed.... another 2 years is double the speed, half the price...

based on tabled budget...

(double the speed, at half the price)

but half the price sound tricky there....it just said reduction up 50%....not 50% reduction.... but this only if they are still have power in gomen.... as you know, 2018 is the last date for pru and used this as "sweet candies"...

TM provide 2 models of router for now, TPlink Archer C5 and Dlink DIR-850L and you cant connect Hypptv by wifi with TPlink Archer C5, only Dlink DIR-850L can do that.
*
is it any good compared to Asus RT-N12HP? im using 50Mbps btw. Apparently N12HP is much better than the previous OEM router, so good TM now, provide AC router instead. was wondering is it any way for me to get that router from TM for free? haha, i dont mind to invest if its good.

First method, it sounds like a good solution. I have facing the same issue also. Upgraded from 384kbps streamyx to 30Mbps unifi recently and the TP-link archer c5 wifi router is given. I am actually very happy with this wifi router, the range and speed of this wifi router is really good but the cons is that it cannot do vlan tagging on wireless. The dlink one looks nice in appearance and it can do vlan tagging to work with hypptv via wireless natively but I really dun like this brand based on past experience.

So I can actually try to reuse the streamyx stock (silver one) wifi router from TM and connect with the Ethernet cable to the tp-link Ethernet port 4 (the one that is configured to the hypptv vlan) and make the streamyx stock wifi router either on bridge or usual NAT with a new SSID. Then connect the hypptv box wirelessly to this newly created SSID. And I guess this should work.

Initially I planned to buy a TP-link wireless router to fix this issue, but guess I can save the money on this now.

Newbie question during Unifi installation the installer disabled my router 5Ghz wifi should I enable it or just let it?
*
Just enable it. If your area is congested 2.4 Ghz signal, then 5Ghz should be your option. Little coverage but less congested compared with 2.4Ghz.

Just that when i asked the cs before subscribing, she didn't say anything about the RM100 payment. Asked many many times about all the payment included and she said only monthly payment and 1 time stamp fee. doh.gif

It's a different subscriptions altogether.. So, you can maintain your existing phone line.

Unifi also comes with its own IP phone and it cant maintain your old phone number. It has a new phone number. So, when you maintain your current phone, that means you will have two phone numbers. It's not an issue. I just want to let you know about it only.

Now they suspend service if you don't pay within 3 days or 1 week after due I forgot, then if line got suspended you need to pay within 3 days for free re-activation if after you pay RM30 to reactivate. Last time i used to pay full lump sum every 3 months lazy to pay every month, now they force everyone like me who is lazy to use auto debit.

RM 200 for downgrade penalty. That's normal.

You have to also take consideration of you household WiFi enabled devices, see its supporting 5Ghz Wi-Fi signal.
Note: Not all devices are capable of supporting 5Ghz bandwidth.

Just my 2 cents.

I seen people say can use current telephone line to switch over to the Voip line.

You have to ask. last time I tried online dont have option. Infact I call over phone to request also cannot get it.

But still, I suggest if important. Call untill you find one CSR that can do it. Some times those CSR .... bangwall.gif bangwall.gif bangwall.gif

Meaning your unifi phone line- phone number is exactly your previous old number.

When subscribing to Unifi last time, i've asked over the counter whether i can use back my old landline phone number instead of using the new unifi VoIP phone number, the TM counter personnel said "cannot".. sweat.gif Whether truly cannot do that or that personnel is lazy to do that by saying "cannot"..i'm not sure
