Currently I'm using 30Mbps package.

Wondering if upgrade to 50Mbps now, any free upgrade to 100Mbps next year? Does anyone know?
*
Yes. As long as it is not a free upgrade you are eligible to get ones. But of course its depend on hardware and technical cause. If you are on FTTH, you are on the higher chance to get free upgrade.

I just called TM today to upgrade my speed to 50Mbps. However, I can't get new equipment since I just do upgrade via phone. The good side is, even if i upgrade the speed, the contract remains unchanged. The bad side, cannot get new equipment such as hypptv and cordless phone.  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif

Contract remain but are you able to downgrade?

QUOTE(jiaen0509 @ Dec 16 2016, 11:31 PM)
If got RM219 I will upgrade... haha
*
I got called from their telemarketer twice. The first one offer me RM 219 with extending contract for additional 2 years. That first caller (man) call me twice because I need to discuss with my housemate. And later I told him not interested. -DONE-
Second caller (lady) called me 15 days after that. But this time for the same price my contract wouldn't have to be extended, and just finish with the remaining months. I asked her to do the same as the first caller did for the same reason and I rejected the offer on the second time she called. 3 days after that she called me again;

"Hi selamat pagi, Nur (xxx) daripada TM membuat panggilan, jadi macam mana encik (xxx)? Berminat dengan tawaran?"

"Ye saya bercakap... Tapi saya dah bagi jawapan kan tempoh hari"

And she explain bla bla bla... (I wasn't pay attention to what she said coz right now I was wondering, is this just coincident or is it God knows better himself that I should take that offer for the sake of next year benefit).

In that curiosity, I asked her just what I want to hear "If I upgrade now, would I entitle for free upgrade to 100 Mbps next year?"

And she said "YES! But we still...... (bla bla bla)"

"SIGN ME IN!!!!!!!!" I said confidentially

"Kalau encik (xxx) bersetuju saya akan bacakan terma2nya untuk kita teruskan proses upgrade ini ya encik"

And I said "OK!"

"Encik (xxx) bernombor kad pengenalan (xxx) adalah pemilik utama akaun (xxx). YA!
"Encik bersetuju untuk menaik taraf Pakej semasa 30 Mbps akan dinaiktaraf ke pakej 50 Mbps. YA!
"Naiktaraf ini adalah melalui telefon, maka segala peralatan digunakan adalah masih sama dan encik bersetuju dengan perkara ini. YA!

I said yes to everything she said for verification purpose that I agreed with the offer

"Pakej semasa 30 Mbps akan dinaiktaraf ke pakej 50 Mbps dengan terma terma berikut..."

As she explain one by one

1.
2.
3.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
And come to the final statement.

"Pakej yang telah dinaiktaraf kepada 50 Mbps ini TIDAK BOLEH dituruntaraf kepada pakej yang lebih rendah"

Owh.... F*CK! doh.gif

My journey started back from TMNET dialup 56k laugh.gif
Now if the upgrade is true, it's gonna be 100mbps  rclxms.gif

Dial up 1515 sure is the pain in the as* back then. Speed 56k but still that one bearable la at that time. Now, I dunno. Me personally feel that 30 Mbps is normal. Anything below than that.... sweat.gif
Although my mother's house using streamyx 4 Mbps but still.....

QUOTE(Icehart @ Dec 19 2016, 02:13 AM)
Good price.
I'm paying RM20 more for the same speed.
*
Sure a good deal. For the current promotion I pay less RM 10. My true intention for upgrade is to get 100 Mbps for next year so I am paying less for extra Mbps. What I am worried about is I will not get the upgrade.

First, the terms and condition clearly stated that free upgrade is for Old Trafford Promo in conjunction to PM announcement. Anything earlier than that might be considered by TM la. But for the mean time, the bold statement is for that particular promo before end of 31st Dec 2016.

Secondly the TM telemarketer did told me I am eligible for the free upgrade. But currently my area are not supported with 100 Mbps. The highest package is 50 Mbps but still do not in 2017 how it is gonna be. And I am using FTTH right now. So I am afraid that I keep my hope too high and in the end of the day my unit aren't eligible for upgrade because of that so called TECHNICAL PROBLEM. And I cannot revert back to previous plan because of the terms and conditions for the new package, TIDAK BOLEH DITURUNTARAF ke pakej yang lebih rendah. So I end up paying more while the rest of 28 Mbps clubbers are enjoying the same bandwidth as I do for much less fee.

But what I am thinking of right now (since many of us asked should I apply unifi now or next year), Why TM make a statement of "Upgrade before 31st December 2016, and get free upgrade by next year"? Since it is 2017 budget, doesn't that mean the free upgrade must be on for the whole year of 2017 or at least till PM announce 2018 budget? So if you apply next year also, you will get the speed that you intended to get la kan.. By right.

QUOTE(cucubud @ Dec 19 2016, 07:44 AM)
I thought they said "Double the speed, half the price"?
*
Double the speed, price remain

QUOTE(jasmeet21 @ Dec 19 2016, 07:52 AM)
What if upgrading from Streamyx 4Mbps to Unifi 30Mbps, I wonder if the tm reward will be kept or it will reset to 0?
*
TM Rewards will be remain until it expire. Every points have its expire date

Guys, I just upgraded my current Advance 30 to Advance 50. Currently, I'm getting 47.++ Mbps d/l and 20.++ u/l through wired connection. Is this normal for 50Mbps user(s)?
*
Make sure it is a stable 47 Mbps. And not jumble up and down connection

Paid 50mbps - getting 20mbps - WTF

To those who just upgrade your speed, make sure you keep an eye on your speedtest. It just happened to me that I do not get the true speed of 50 Mbps. My speed always remain at 30 Mbps (previous package) all the time. Although some of us do aware that when we do not get true speed, we will turn off all the equipment for a few seconds and hoping the internet will be reset. I've done that believe me. For a few second I will get the 47-48 Mbps but later will drop back to 30 Mbps all day long. I made complaint to TM 100 and they said my connection is all normal. Because not knowing what happened on my side, later they will send some guy to your house and do the setting. My advise is DO NOT hesitate when the they say technician will come to your house (some of us afraid of being charged 53 ringgit for the technician). BTW, it is not us who create the problem.

The TM technician arrived at my house. He do the equipment check and later he made a few calls and the connection back to solid 50 Mbps. I asked him what is the issue. He said when upgrade thru telemarketer the previous account is still there. Kinda the telemarketer just paste the 50 Mbps on top of the 30 Mbps. He said the telemarketer did that so the user can enjoy upgraded speed faster la kononnya. Then when I made the complaint, it is like the short cut to erase that previous package. The norm Malaysian practice... If you made a query thru the documents and all that, you have to go through many stages of processes kan. Then when you made complaint, the pihak atasan clarify this must be solved quick! So quickly solve lorh... THE END

i think it is safer to 'upgrade' the speed at TM point. Last time i did my streamyx speed upgrade from 1Mbps to 4Mbps, it was completed within hour.
new installation they are giving Alcatel-Lucent I240G instead.
*
Owh, do you get any rebate @ discount when you upgraded thru TM Point?
