My speedtest shows 21Mbps dl and 10Mbps ul. When I download a movie, it only uses 21 - 50 KB/s from 3.2 MB/s download. Currently using google dns. Do any sifu's experienced this situation?
P/s: I only connect single device to the router. This post has been edited by Jjuggler: Dec 13 2016, 06:13 PM |

QUOTE(budakmaran @ Dec 15 2016, 05:47 PM) If you want the affordable router, go for tplink. If you concern on quality and durability, go for asus. Me personally using asus rt-n14uhp as main router replacing my stock unifi router l7 and a asus rt-n12 as a repeater for my pc. |

QUOTE(Hornet @ Dec 16 2016, 12:25 AM) Finally the contractor will be coming to install next week Yes. It is considered as non-standard installation. They will charge you some amount of money. If I wish to run the fiber optic cable above the ceiling in a double story house, is that consider non standard installation? I hope at the least they can do that, even if they will charge. Don't want to install the modem at my kitchen |

I just called TM today to upgrade my speed to 50Mbps. However, I can't get new equipment since I just do upgrade via phone. The good side is, even if i upgrade the speed, the contract remains unchanged. The bad side, cannot get new equipment such as hypptv and cordless phone.

QUOTE(jhleo1 @ Dec 16 2016, 11:13 PM) My Advance 30 speedtest always around 28mpbs download & ~10mpbs upload. Ping around 6 to 7ms. Should be ok right? I also get 28Mbps d/l and 11Mbps u/l bro. You're not alone. QUOTE(jiaen0509 @ Dec 16 2016, 11:31 PM) Good luck bro. I upgrade now in order to experience the 100Mbps. My journey starts from 1Mbps to 5Mbps to 30Mbps to 50Mbps then finally going to reach 100Mbps. |

QUOTE(LionMY @ Dec 18 2016, 09:50 AM) What will be the cheapest/most economical router available now (plug and play as no setting is required) to replace the existing router provided by TM? Just got free upgrade from 5Mbps to 10Mbps few months ago and the downloading is damn slow. they need your ppoe username and password. I think you can do by your own. Here is the tutorial video for you. Do not let the third person do the set up for you for safety reasons.Shopkeeper told my sister in law that they need to do setting at the shop even it is UNIFI certified. Is that true? QUOTE(GamaX320 @ Dec 19 2016, 08:31 PM) Newbie question during Unifi installation the installer disabled my router 5Ghz wifi should I enable it or just let it? Just enable it. If your area is congested 2.4 Ghz signal, then 5Ghz should be your option. Little coverage but less congested compared with 2.4Ghz. |

QUOTE(tangenx @ Dec 20 2016, 01:40 PM) You have to also take consideration of you household WiFi enabled devices, see its supporting 5Ghz Wi-Fi signal. Yes bro. You're right. I forget to mention that. My mistake. Hahaha. Thank you for informing the forumers here. Note: Not all devices are capable of supporting 5Ghz bandwidth. Just my 2 cents. TangenX |

Guys, I just upgraded my current Advance 30 to Advance 50. Currently, I'm getting 47.++ Mbps d/l and 20.++ u/l through wired connection. Is this normal for 50Mbps user(s)?

QUOTE(lolabunny123 @ Dec 24 2016, 04:04 PM) For me, it took 4 working days to complete the upgrade from 30 Mbps to 50 Mbps. However, even through lan port, I only manage to get 47.++Mbps d/l and solid 20Mbps u/l. As i concern, it should be normal speed though. Here is my suggestion, I do call them everyday eventhough I apply the upgrade through phone. Try to call them everyday (if you have free time and you are cool) and force them to place your order first than others. It works for me. |

QUOTE(westlife @ Dec 24 2016, 06:17 PM) only 4 more working days left before 1 Jan 2017. think i better not trying to do any upgrade now to avoid causing problem for the free upgrade in 2017. yeap. The free upgrade "only" eligible for those whose staying in the area that supports 100Mbps. Currently, the 30Mbps in my taman quite unstable especially during night. However, 50 Mbps works well for me.now 30Mbps, if upgraded to 50Mbps should not be too bad even upload speed will be upgraded from 10Mbps to 20Mbps, then it should be enough. although rm229 for 100Mbps is really good deal. |
