I have been using the onboard sound for quite some time and there were indeed differences after investing on this card. Btw, what is EAX effects in the Audio console?

The mp3's is a bit crispier and nicer to listen with some Crytalizer turned on. I guess it's more of personal preference but anything above 50% makes the music sounds weird though.
Btw, do we really need to plug in the extra power for the X-Fi Elite Pro? I can run without the extra power now. |

QUOTE(Deerc @ May 11 2008, 01:52 AM) The review says it's needed to power the card since standard PCI slot doesn't provide enough power. However the review was done in 2005 so perhaps motherboards which are available today no longer have such problems |

If you don't mind OEM stuffs, you can get the Fatality from Garage Sales. I think that's more worth it

What's the latest X-Fi drivers available currently? Btw, Daniel K just removed his modded drivers so I guess we'll have to live with stock original drivers from today onwards?

Yup, I saw this beta driver too and I'm on Vista32. Maybe you can post a review after you've installed
