Well, there is a hidden partition inside your laptop which act as recovery partition.
To be safe, i would ask you to burn out a recovery copies into DVD just incase it has been overwrite during reformating it to Window XP.
You can't recover back your vista business by pressing F10 after you downgrade it.
I tried it once on SZ79 for my previous customer before, the recovery partition no longer there.

But remember, before you do the downgrade thingy, please remember to download XP drivers for your model from Sonywebsite.

I wanted to buy either sony fw23 and asus f8vr(lower spec,rm3.3k) but the lower spec 1 don hv white colour, and i prefer larger screen so i ended up buying sony , thats why im here , club VAIO

instead of totally downgrading your vista, u can try dual boot try to see this site for more detail:

i done with the recovery cds no need go back to the Sony centre.

can burn after u login into vista... click start > all program > vaio recovery center >vaio recovery center, inside there just chose burn recovery disc...follow the instruction and ready 3 dvds

price not bad for a lower spec rm3k & higher one rm4k. better than fujitsu u2010. at least this has got the built-in gps, bigger screen yet lighter by few grams..

just a tiny problem...to burn the recovery centre infor into dvd-r..
when came into second disc it doesn't wants to continue and keep asking to stop the program..

look at the motherboard for VAIO P, it is so small!!!

i hv just received my backpack from sony. it is so fugly!!!! compare with my cousin cs series bagpack, mine fw backpack is soooooo ugly ok! im wondering, the cs backpack can fit my fw laptop or not? 1 is for 14 inch and another is for 16 inche.. i might swap with my cousin if the bag can carry any size laptop......

if the backpack is designed for 14" notebook, your 16" notebook most probably can't fit into it. 1" difference is a lot. i put my vaio cs into my prev 15" hp laptop bag, got alot of space left.

Its worth for the Z series but price higher. Better features. P is more for somebody seeking for small portable notebook. Havent seen the item yet.

just came back from sony outlet, d size of "P" series is d size of a palm n d screen is 8" not 8.9" is pretty small

Sony T-37 is selling cheap (cheaper) to consider but only 1 colour for the model which is black..

Sony P comes with build in GPS? i dont see their advertise in their ads hmm...
