QUOTE(ryosuke @ Jan 5 2009, 06:28 PM) There is this problem been bothering me since the 1st day i got my cs, previously i used xp on my notebook and this is the first time got my hands on vista...mine is vista home premium, and whenever i shut down my com, the screen will blinks a few times and goes to the windows background " Please wait" ..then it will goes back to my wallpaper and then to the windows background again, this time is "shutting down" .. my question is that, the screen blinking is normal in vista or my os has some prob? because last time in xp i dint have issues on this..thanks It could be an auto update ... either Vista or SONY updating lol ...

I have this problem on my Vaio SR. My desktop PC using ATI 4850 however did not have this problem after I updated the driver. So I think this could be the issue. I've seen pretty a lot of laptops with this flickering issue but this is nothing serious to be honest.

Can you try restarting Windows to see if the problem persist? If the problem is still there, you can try re-installing the Vaio utility software. I'll try look out for you the name of the software. No downloading is required as you can always accessed your Vaio Recovery Software Suite.

After filling up the details, it shows server error. I tried this many times over the last one week but there has not been any difference.

I tried this many times over the last one week but there has not been any difference. Sometimes it's all because of their website down, well, i would recommend you to call Sony Style about it. Meaning because you might lose the 3 months extended warranty simply because you can't register your product through online.

Actually i took 2 years extended warranty too, so i have no idea where they are going to slot in the extra 3 months. Yup, i think i will call them since i need to collect my extended warranty form too.

Yup, i think i will call them since i need to collect my extended warranty form too. You pay RM360 extra for the 2 years extended warranty ? Rich fellow detected. Well, according to my previous working experiences in Sony Style, 3 months warranty will still be added together with the 2 years extended warranty that you paid for it which means 1 year official warranty + 2 years extended warranty + 3 months extra warranty (reward for register through online) Total up together would be 3 years and 3 months. Weirdo.

Em, you mean when comes to second disc, it stop by itself or just because it doesn't move, you click something which lead to program shut down by itself ?
Have you try one more time ?
Since you just bought it on today, straight away go back to the retail shop on tml. Or if you want to save trouble, try to do recovery on your own. Then try al over again.

If that is the case, i would suggest you to go back to the retail shop and ask them to burn the recovery disc for you. Well, if you bought ur laptop from Sony style, they will do it for you FOC but with the condition that you must purchase 3 disc from their retail shop. Or just drop by at KLCC Sony Style and ask them to do it for you, FOC.
