for me, my cr35 is superb, and it's not that hot after some hardcore gaming/processing compare to most of my customer's laptop
too bad it's not nvidia gpu, but ATI just ngam ngam enough for me to use

well, in fact, it's almost same thick as inspiron, just that the design make it look slimmer alot and of coz the multimedia button look more solid instead of delll's plastic build multimedia button

lcd wise, it's much more brighter and clear than dell

and also, choose the color wisely, if u dun wanna catch too much of attention, dun take colors like too special 1
i got mine as red and it catch alot of attention whenever i'm using it in public area
i should just go for black or blue

I'm using SZ43. Also Aluminum palm rest. So far, no tingling whatsoever. Better check with sony center.
This is the 1st time I heard some1 complaining abt the tingling effect.

Thanks for the reply. Those not affected by the shiok2 feel, congrats. Believed it apply to certain people only but this is not acceptable by Sony standard.
Actually before i post this q, did google about it and the measures being mentioned has been tested and proof not working.
Will lodge a complaint to Sony and see what they say. Finger cross.

Err.. I think when saying CR35G is also saying CR353G. The price is actually not different. Some ppl quote the actual price selling from sonystyle which is RM4488 and some ppl quote promotional price which can be bought from other sony dealers like sony centre and other authorised dealers. Correct me if i am wrong. Because at other dealers they can actually give discounts up to 4%

Wow ! izzit possible for it to be RM4k for one CR35 ? Its almost like the cost price for it.

What is a good Vaio laptop to get? Going overseas to study, so I need a laptop... My bro said to get the small Vaio entertainment thing (that white circle that you connect to TV, i like it too) but for now I wont be staying at my own place, and will be staying at a student apartment, so i dont wana get all that yet... planning to get a laptop first...

The new Vaio FW is really cool, but i dont think its out yet (in Malaysia?)... Looking for standard laptop for personal use la... Blu-Ray drive will be a ++ for me... All around good specs, price range around RM5k - RM8k (doesnt mean it HAS to be RM8k, just sayinig how much I am willing to pay, but depends on specs also)...

any recommendations?

im tempting to get a Sony CR32 for my sis with the budget of RM3.5k but im not sure how is the feedback for this laptop regarding:

1) Heat problem?
2) DVDRW sensitivity of watching ah-ham movies?
3) Failire Rate?
4) International Warranty? what does it cover?
5) Laggy under Vista performance?

where my off topic question will be ....besides Sony product, what u guys think of Toshiba to compete with Sony?

heat problem should be ok. coz no gc also. anyway use laptop fan lar....
failure rate.. ermm.. well sony so far so good... maybe coz little ppl own it
internationaly warranty... sony VOS... if its promotional they give free if not u purchase for RM 138.. it covers standard warranty.. no warranty for accessories... i found out one thing if u extend the warranty to 3 years... then they will give a good warranty.. like fire and lightning and theft and also to some extend accidental damage.... (if u dont extend then it will be only one year and no theft protection and accidental damage)
sure laggy under vista coz it is 1GB ram... to upgrade u need maximum RM 300.. coz it is 2*512mb and u have to put in 2*1GB... ermm... as i say better to get the cr35 coz processor very hebat... much much better...

ermm... bout the ah-ham movies.. i not sure.. coz using the TZ series.. but one of my friend using hp pavilion cannot play those movies...

One thing good about VAIO is, you can straight away reformat ur laptop simply by presing F10 before it comes to BIOS. So, just incase your sis wish to reformat it when she's alone in oversea, she can do it herself.

International warranty.. You need to pay RM198 for one year inter warranty coz normal warranty just 1 year + 3 months ( which is after you registered your product through online )
Well, I never heard of the facts that if we extended our warranty to 3 years, it will cover theft and lighting etc.
As far as i am concern, this only apply for Sony Bravia TV.

Well, CR32G not to say a very powerful model, but for normal use, it still can fulfil your requirement, especially for girls. Window Vista cannot run smoothly with 1GB ram, this is the fact. Well, if you plan to increase the speed, try not to upgrade it in Sony Centre or Sony style shop, coz their price would be far higher than the market price.
You can try to buy 2GB ram at around RM138 + another 512mb which comes with the laptp itself.

Personally, i would say that Sony Vaio is anyhow beter than Toshiba laptop, well ,it depands on which laptop you are comparing anyway. Meaning because i used to sell both brand before, and i found out that Vaio can perform better.
Alot people might think that VAIO just about the branding.. You pay so much money for not really high spec.. This is because their didnt realised the software that comes together with the laptop itself. Eg, Vaio movie maker ++++

Yup it is confirm that if u extend the warranty to 3 years u will get theft protection for the 1st half year.
And if u extend warranty to 2 years then u will only get lightning and fire protection. This only applies for VAIO and BRAVIA.
