For the audio problem. If using windows media player go to tools>options>DVD>Advanced. Then increase the master gain to make it louder. Its not the Vaio problem. My desktop also like that.

Does anybody have Vaio TZ series? Is the specs really very low? I am not really into gaming. Just normal surfing and watching movie. I now choosing between TZ and SZ. But prefer VGN-TZ36GN/B coz it is small and light and long life battery.

Hi. If i get the VAIO from SONY STYLE shops is there no chance at all to get any freebies? Coz i am getting a vaio laptop. I am hoping to get the freebies for vaio wired optical mouse and a sony pendrive which is very expensive if i have to purchase it.

Hehe kinda noob here. Coz I just only got interested in Sony Vaio. N i only check malaysia sony page. so dunno it is old model
But still it is really cheap and still got style. Kinda tempting to get it just for fun coz so cheap

Anyway bought a Sony TZ36GN/B from Sony Style The Curve. Very good service in Sony Style. Although no freebies...sobsob.. Had to pay RM100+ for a usb Vaio mouse.
But this notebook really is lightweight. Only1.2kg with battery. Carry also cannot feel the weight. EVEN THE VAIO KHAKIS BAG WEIGHS HEAVIER THEN THE NOTEBOOK WITHOUT BATTERY (wieght of bag is 750g)





Got few questions need to ask
1.This notebook gets hot very fast. It does not have graphic card but still so hot. Even the keyboard can feel the heat. Is that normal? I am afraid burn mobo
2. Lan connection giving problem. Everytime webpage cannot be found. Then when diagnose they say TCP not compatible with router
3. Can I know what programs that I can disable or delete. Coz startup long time. And load programs little bit slow.
4. What notebook fan can I use. That is comfort and light, So far i only see those suitable for 12" not for 11.1"
5. How to save battery? It says 11 hours. But seems to be getting only max bout 4 hours.
6. Any other advice how to jaga this notebook? some tips that u all have learn??

I disabled the modem and Ilink port. It took me a long time to find where to disable it. Coz it is in the advanced power setting.
Adjusted the screen brightness but not happy with it. Coz now quite dark. Makes the LED effect useless.
Really u dont use laptop fan?? I tot that it is a must? Coz the laptop hot oh and i still afraid it spoils. Might get an coolermaster fan which is quite oversized
Bout the TCP setting. I dunno how to do. All is on auto configuration. I suspect maybe is my router which is so old. Maybe firmware too old.
I installed AVG and its good.
Now have to find out what other programs to disable to boot faster. Vaio update i did not disable coz it looks important. Hehe

The CR323 is nice and also come in nice colours. But I dunno bout the thinner compared to dell? CR323 is quite big oh. The screen is 14.1" and it is bout 2.5kg like that. I think most of the ppl in this thread will agree that u go for Vaio and not Dell. Coz of the brand name.
I got a bit advice bout where u buy. If u buy from sonystyle the service is very good and they will pick up from ur house for repair. If u buy from sony centre then it will be cheaper or they will give u lots and lots of freebies. Depends also whether u like the freebies lar. I am not sure whether PC FAIR is sonystyle or sony centre.

Edit: U have to remember that u are supposed to upgrade the ram to 2GB which will cost u about RM300 max depending on the place u buy from. So if can get CR353 coz the processor is much much faster. Duo Core is far behing Core2Duo.

Err.. I think when saying CR35G is also saying CR353G. The price is actually not different. Some ppl quote the actual price selling from sonystyle which is RM4488 and some ppl quote promotional price which can be bought from other sony dealers like sony centre and other authorised dealers. Correct me if i am wrong. Because at other dealers they can actually give discounts up to 4%

heat problem should be ok. coz no gc also. anyway use laptop fan lar....
failure rate.. ermm.. well sony so far so good... maybe coz little ppl own it
internationaly warranty... sony VOS... if its promotional they give free if not u purchase for RM 138.. it covers standard warranty.. no warranty for accessories... i found out one thing if u extend the warranty to 3 years... then they will give a good warranty.. like fire and lightning and theft and also to some extend accidental damage.... (if u dont extend then it will be only one year and no theft protection and accidental damage)
sure laggy under vista coz it is 1GB ram... to upgrade u need maximum RM 300.. coz it is 2*512mb and u have to put in 2*1GB... ermm... as i say better to get the cr35 coz processor very hebat... much much better...

ermm... bout the ah-ham movies.. i not sure.. coz using the TZ series.. but one of my friend using hp pavilion cannot play those movies...

Yup it is confirm that if u extend the warranty to 3 years u will get theft protection for the 1st half year.
And if u extend warranty to 2 years then u will only get lightning and fire protection. This only applies for VAIO and BRAVIA.

hmm...... when u buy the cr series laptop try not to focus on gaming so much ok..... just put gaming as the last on the list...

i was just saying that it is heavy and big coz the forumer who ask bout it only ask for a gc to play not so high requirement games... so i was saying that the SZ series is a balance between having a gc and also other features like light and longer battery life.....

u can check in www.sonystyle.com.my and check the specs of the laptop u want to get.
check whether the supplied accessories has a windows xp pro install disc.
n also have to hurry to buy coz there is a dateline until when they will give the downgrade rights

yup... no doubt FZ series is much high performance.... and is totally good for ppl who want fast and heavy gamers...
actually it is up to preference also... if for me personally i prefer SZ... coz it is hybrid graphics... so can suit the user when want play games then on the gc....
but u do have a good point also...

both website should have the same price... sometimes sonystyle update the price faster then sony.com and if got discounted price sonystyle show 1st... but if about product info then sony.com will update their website faster/// thats my observation.. but the lower price is always the correct price
and just for info sony shop like sony centre and sonystlye is diff... sonystlye only go 4 outlets... klcc, curve, time square and tebrau... if u really care bout fast and good service get from sonystlye... but they dont give freebies and no discount from advertised price..

Dont have freebies oh..... Well at least not on normal days. Only when end of the year promotion or during vaio roadshow... In normal sony centre or other dealers they will give what sonystlye have on promotion PLUS freebies...

Sony CR32 got pink also.
and ya thats what i mean by no freebies.. they give keyboard cover and backpack which all other sony centre and other authorised dealers give... if i rephrase my words.. it is sonystlye give freebies but other places give freebies plus freebies...
so for some tips.. if want to buy from sony centre, make sure call sonystyle and find out what are the sure promotion things that they give. then go to sony centre and make sure they give all the things that sony style give and on top of that PLUS many more other freebies..... some that i can name that u can ask is vaio wired optical mouse, laptop fan, pendrive, headset, cleaning kits, and bag also. and discount also lar.. keep in mind that most of the freebies will be 3rd party items meaning that its not under sony vaio.

AIYOH why now only sell?? i bought mine just a few weeks ago..

AGREE 110%. if got the budget for it and only for basic requirement then i dont see even the slightest reason why not.

if u did buy the laptop from sonystyle.. u can arrange for pick up service.. no need to travel all the way to shop... but i still have not tried pick up service.. so dunno how long it takes

build quality us good.. it does not matter which price right.. as long as it is vaio...
good buy for design is of coz...
and good buy for quality is ok ok lar.. what i mean is other laptop also got good quality...
i would say if u want to base ur buy better base it more on design than build quality.. maybe 70:30
