RM1279. Ironwolf Pro is Enterprise level disk. Of course it is more expensive.

Hi guys, I just found my 3.5 2TB WD blue has 46 bad sectors.

1. Should I worry about it ? get a new hard disk and replace current faulty one?

2. And how you guys dispose faulty hard disk ? sell it or just throw to dustbin?

3. Which brand to get for 2TB? I am leaning toward Toshiba P300 as it is cheaper than WD blue or Seagate Barracuda.

1. Yes you should worry. Replace it immediately
2. Do a secure erase then throw it away. No one is going to buy faulty HDD. Not even for RM10
3. Go with Seagate Barracuda Pro. 5 year warranty, worth every penny.

2tb not worth…go 3tb for toshiba.

P300 or V300 (lower rpm)

how about record down the noise and upload? i think it should be normal, though i have 7 hdd, one of them is Black so i can identify it for you.
High speed HDD tends to be noisy, just like fast vehicle.

does not sounds too bad, my Toshiba has similar sounds as both are also 7200rpm drive, it sounds worse and louder.
for hdd abnormal sound, you should google for clicks of death and head crash.

If you're worried about data protection, invest on cloud drive and multiple hdd for redundancy, it cost much less than data recovery.

Do you mind to share how your Toshiba holding up still? Is the drive still working and what the age of the drive?

First time hearing this kind of sound on HDD feel strange as my old seagate with 7200rpm does not have the noise. Will just use this WD drive to backup something less important.

Sad, I think my 2TB WD Blue internal HDD just died.
Not showing in BIOS, disk management, CMD even though I have swapped the SATA cable etc...

I am planning to buy a 4TB internal HDD now for cold storage (keep pics, videos, movies etc...).
Any good recommendation?
