I am very close to get one in days. Serious questions needed some opinion as follows:

1. Worth to add 8K for LED + Navigator?
2. Which is the best dealer offer the best discount in December?
3. Will other new variant come to Malaysia in 2017?
4. Saw China variant with sun roof. Available in Malaysia?
*
1. Navigation is not really necessary unless you travel a lot and you dont want to use waze. LED lighs is seductive but the extra 8k, i dont think worth the money. Save 8k get TC spec instead and change to HID lightbulb
2. Got my offer last week in Kah Motor Penang with 6k rebate
3. Civic just launched in Malaysia 2016, so there wont be other model or facelift until next 2 to 3 years
4. You dont need sunroof in Malaysia. Even you do, you have to prepare for the "nightmare" if you are unlucky

Just book mine MSM 1.5TC.

Consider it before but you only take what's left. Maybe the colour or the spec you want is not available?

Personally don't think it has much difference to the value as it is still Yr2016's car..

if you buy now and register later in 2017, your car geran still show that your car is manufactured in 2016. i believe the car value is determined by manufactured year instead of registered year.

IMO, buying car in end of the year with adequate rebate is not a concern unless you told me that you gonna sell your car within next 3-5 years.

Not true, if touch wood, anything happen to the car, you still have to send your car back to Honda SC to fix it (because of the warranty). The insurance is just there to pay your bill only. The process is still the same if you use honda or other's insurance service.

PS: if accident happen, and you let other workshop to fix your car during the warranty period, your car warranty will be void.
*
I tend to agree more with you on this.

Last time when I made an insurance claim, I was told I can go back to the "car franchisor" (ie. SC) no matter which insurer & even if not listed as authorized workshop.
(I noticed that franchisor's SCs are never listed in all my experience with car insurance.)

And yes, the risk of a warranty challenge will be there if repairs are done by other workshop without Honda's authorization.

In my opinion:-

1. We can opt for any insurer.

2. Better to go to SC for insurance claims (even for non-HIP). SC may then send to other workshop but it will be Honda-authorized.

Did anyone get insurance premium discount for the 1st year under HIP?
I intend to ask for 15% from HIP for the 2nd year onwards.
If HIP don't give, I intend to try going straight to insurer.

Agreed.. and The Honda REBATE only for car registered in Dec 2016 which is 3k..
so if your manufacture year is 2016 and register in 2017.. what you can get? seems like funny...
within 5 years you going to sell your car.. your car valued with "Manufacture Year" and "Car Condition"
beyond 5 years valued with "Car Condition" only...

I'm using 3M as well now. But wondering are there any good window tint that has no issues with smart tag, or we just have to live with it.
*
Since you're using 3M now, I'm assuming that you prefer non-metallized tint.
I'm using Huper Optik (also non-metallized tint). No issues at all with smart tag (infrared-based) or proximity card (radio-frequency-based).

I was told that the cause of smart tag issue could be high infrared rejection rate (eg. 97%) or/and multi-layered-tint manufacturing process.

I'm not familiar with metallized tint like Vkool, Raytech & Llumar.
Maybe others can comment. smile.gif

No offence, but I beg to differ on your last statement.
Does that mean year-6th car vs year-9th car are valued the same? hmm... hmm.gif

1. to me, $$ not my 1st consideration.... its all just depends on my favor....
If I just like civic design~ buy 1.8 and change rim and upholstery, then no one know it is 1.5t or 1.8 lol
If I prefer engine power~ buy 1.5tc..
If I prefer LED headlamp set and LED light for Fog and Headlamp, buy 1.5tcp..

biggrin.gif i really like the LED headlamp set and i prefer original 1.. pirated quality really .. haiz.. no comment..

biggrin.gif do you believe i sold my EJ with RM20K+... its 18 years old...
coz my car condition really nice..
if its EK9 type R den can sold in RM60k+
yes.. after 5 years. there is lots of new model in market.. the price eventually will drop.
however some model wont till too much eg CIVIC..
if you dont believe you can ask FD price according to its years from 2nd hand market or search in mudah.com.my
mostly 50k+

somebody go 2nd market will go thru the car condition as well the mileage.... if you take good care for interior..
your car value will be much higher than your expected

1. Navigation doesn't make much of a difference since your car will come with CarPlay/AndroidAuto and hence Apple/Google Maps. Another difference that maybe you missed is dualzone climate control. I didn't really care for it before as my previous car doesn't have it, but now that I do, I wouldn't buy another car without it. You'll never fight with your BF/GF/Husband/Wife over the AC temperature ever. Lol. Can't put a price on that can you? As for the lights, I guess that's subjective. Is it worth the 8k? Hell no. But I couldn't resist. So went with the TC-P.

2. As for SAs, scroll a few pages back, you'll find a few. Some of the guys here got 6k worth of rebates.

3. Don't think so anytime soon. Don't think Honda will bring in the hatchback, if they do, I'll kick myself.

4. Nope.

Yeah man, agree how u take care of your car will actually play a major role on the price and subsequently get buyer.

I'm coming from an angle where in the case of both cars are equally in same condition (interior/exterior/mileage etc), the manufactured year do carry weightage to a certain extend.

Thanks for the feedback. Ya, i overlook the dual aircon control, that useful to me.
so if i breakdown the cost, it will be like LED 4K + Navigator 1.5K + Dual auto 2K + chrome handle 0.5K = 8K

Actually the car card will state the manufacture year as well as the registration date. If i am the buyer, i will consider both dates, as the car would not be used until it is registered.
