Any suggestion for tints? Current car using 3M Crystaline, facing issue with smart tag, dislike the cut-out at the top corner.

Found you guys were discussing between Llumar Vkool Raytech, but I cant seem to spot the conclusion

rclxms.gif haha ... ya~previously my dad purchase camry also ask them to take out insurance and buy etiqa
but IMO, better buy honda insurance for civic... anything happen ~ your car will go to honda panel insurer's workshop..
Its Civic.. Its turbo engine.. Do you think if meet accident "touch wood, those insurance company's workshop could fix your civic?
Proton and perdua or any old model maybe any workshop can do it.. but Civic especially your engine issues...im not sure biggrin.gif

Not true, if touch wood, anything happen to the car, you still have to send your car back to Honda SC to fix it (because of the warranty). The insurance is just there to pay your bill only. The process is still the same if you use honda or other's insurance service.

PS: if accident happen, and you let other workshop to fix your car during the warranty period, your car warranty will be void.

if minor issues sure go to Honda SC and they will fix for you..
if major accident happen..
under HIP, your car will be bought to honda appointed workshop
https://www.honda.com.my/assets/pdf/hip.pdf
under others insurance company, your car will be bought to their appointed workshop..
all insurance company have their appointed workshop.. they could waive and re-calculate your claim if you sent other workshop..

warranty will not be affected..

hmm.gif nvm. see anyone else answer..

Correct me if i'm wrong but HIP insurance panels are all Honda SC. I had the unfortunate experience of having accidents 3 times in 10 years. All 3 times are sent to the Honda SC (2 minor, 1 major) and HIP took care of it.

If you use a 3rd party Insurance Company and not HIP, the Honda SC may not be one of their panel workshop. Thus you may need to use an outside workshop, and they may not necessarily use original parts...

Yup, checked last week, HM giving 3k, and dealers are topping up, with the highest up to 3k, while others around 2k.

This is interesting. Sorry kinda noob in this, but aside from workshop, what is the general difference between HIP and other insurance provider? I always assume all are pretty much the same. What is the best you guys suggest?

I'm using 3M as well now. But wondering are there any good window tint that has no issues with smart tag, or we just have to live with it.

They might have been using their panel insurance. Just some example if using Berjaya Sompo / Etiqa insurance. In Johor, not a single Honda SC is listed as one of their panel workshop:

http://www.berjayasompo.com.my/upload/file...an2016johor.pdf

So there you go smile.gif

erm... just refer Honda page

HIP collaborates with
MSIG Insurance (Malaysia) Bhd,
Tokio Marine Insurans (Malaysia) Berhad,
Berjaya Sompo Insurance Berhad,
Uni Asia General Insurance Bhd and
Etiqa Takaful Insurance Bhd.

hahaha... my view is SC will pass your car to one of this insurance company and fwd to their appointed workshop for major accident.

anywhere... the main point for HIP is this sentence
"Honda-endorsed repairs & genuine parts used only
Restoration and repairs are taken care of by a panel of workshops endorsed by Honda.
These panel workshops comply with Honda's quality standards, and only genuine parts are used.'

but you can read from etiqa
http://www.etiqa.com.my/English/Insurance/...-Car-Policy.pdf

c. Replacement Parts
If the spare parts or Accessories required to repair Your Car are not available in Malaysia, or if We choose to pay for the loss or damage in cash,
We will settle Your claim on the following basis:
 the last known parts price list issued in Malaysia by the manufacturer or their agent. If the price list in Malaysia does not exist, We will use the price at the manufacturer’s production plant and include reasonable cost of transportation to Malaysia (but not the cost of air freight); and
 the reasonable labour cost of fitting such spare parts or Accessories in Malaysia.

f. Betterment
If new original parts are used to repair Your Car and as a result of which Your Car is in a better condition than it was before the damage, You would be required to contribute to its betterment, a proportion of the costs of such new original parts.

What I mean is that if you go for normal insurance, even tokio marine, they would not normally go to Honda SC. But if you take HIP, then yes, Honda SC is covered.

I dunno about KL, but my SC has their own workshop
