No. They enjoy that loophole until they make a withdrawal (able to withdraw anytime and still get interest)

U guys have discussed so much on GIA i new requirements. Just want to confirm.

If I lock in profit by withdrawing the GIA i placement (<1 mth) on 31/7. Then immediately place back again on 31/7. Withdrawing it anytime within Aug month, can still get the 3% pa (daily calculated) profit ?

As long as place before 1/8 eligible to get 3% interest anytime you withdraw.

If you make placement on 1/8, and make a withdrawal anytime after that, maybank says thank you .

I did put many 1k placements for 12mth tenure @ 3.25%.

when the time comes next month onwards, I'd still get daily interest upon uplift.

of course this won't last long anyway.

Ya, the good old days of MBB eGIA i daily high interest is over starting Aug 1st. So my July placement is the last time I will enjoy the flexibility it gave !

Suppose to get daily interest for the very last time but no harm give a test uplift on 1st Aug to double confirm.

they will still get interests....but will be calculated based on interests in each current month, which has already dropped to normal fd levels.....

If do a 12-month placement on 31 July, next 12 month enjoy daily interest?
Means withdraw Aug 2017 or Jan 2018, still daily interest?
Wouldn't think it will be, will it?

60 months min requirement is 10k.
longest period for 1k is 14 months.

I know. I tested it.

12mth is ok for me since same profit rate between 12mth and 14mth.

doesn't matter tenure because I only place 1k and will uplift in short period of time.

I'm going to do the same as well, better than nothing. Gotta do it in office tomorrow.


So to make it clear, whatever placed earlier and uplift after 1st August will still get profit right? How about the profit calculation from Aug onward for those placed before 1st Aug? It's a 1-month placement.
I haven't informed my foreign colleague who I have helped to put in a 6 digit placement. I'm going to break the news to her tomorrow and will teach her to put in FSM if she wants.
