I didn't get full cash back too. I guess if spent before 28th Oct, then no issue.

There is a 10% fuel cashback. Seems generous. Any comments? Only can pay at pump? The T&C not clear

no need waste time strategizing la. just remaining 5 times.

use mbb cards at pump kiosk. simple as that, cant go wrong. easier to dispute.

some may try counter, but results would be 3 weeks later.

Fuel transactions.
Just swipe it at kiosk loh.

If you think of doing something beyond the "fuel transaction", at your own risk.

Please be informed that effective 26 December 2025, Maybank Islamic Berhad (the Bank) will replace the current Shariah contract for Maybank Islamic Card from Ujrah and Qard to Commodity Murabahah.

---

Action Required from Your End
In relation to the replacement, you are given the following options:

Action Required

Option 1
Agreed with the replacement of the Shariah contract. No action is required from your end.

Option 2
Disagree with the replacement and wish to opt out. You are required to reach out to the Bank before 23 December 2025 to exercise this option.

FAQ

What happens if I just ignore the communication and do not respond? If no action is taken, you will be deemed to have consented to the replacement of Shariah Contract and your card will automatically be replaced with the Commodity Murabahah contract effective 26th December 2025.

The FAQ does not state what happens after a cardholder sends an e-mail to opt out from Replacement of Shariah Contract, to mibcards@maybank.com.

Does opting out mean cancelling the Maybank Islamic Card?

Maybank Islamic CC to be cancelled. I guess Card Centre will offer alternative product such as Maybank CC (conventional banking).

---
What happens if I opt out after the effective date?
The Commodity Murabahah contract has already taken place if you opt out after the effective date
(26th December 2025). You may still cancel your card as per normal.

there's no apparent reason for you to opt-out, unless you're a scholar or pious person who truly cares how the underlying management of your Islamic cards being managed. smile.gif

I am just very cautious of the changes.

The FAQ does states that: "all card features including cashback, points, discounts, and rewards remain unchanged."

For sure, the banks would want us to quickly agree with the changes.

However, as cardholders, I feel that we really need to ensure that the changes in the contract for Maybank Islamic Card will not cause any hidden ill effects that may be detrimental to us.

Perhaps, the banks do not provide us the full disclosure of all terms and conditions regarding the changes in the contract.

Anyway, as you mentioned before that the internal management of the card is transparent to users, I should not overthink, and should instead agree with the replacement of the Shariah contract.

Thank you.
