Shit, after I lowered down my credit limit by 30% for my conventional card, applied Ikhwan Petronas again and still got rejected. Why ah?

No issue with my credit record as I just got my Barcelona Signature last month. Previously was suspecting credit limit too high so cannot get another Maybank credit card so I lowered it and applied again, still cannot get ><

same case to me, Barcelona approved, but Ikhwan Petronas keep reject many times

And the effective cash rebate is not even 10%. Plus the capped is much lower. Anyway, since this is a Maybank credit card thread...we should stick back to the topic haha sweat.gif

They reply saying that will forward to relevant department for processing.
Then you shall wait around 5 days like that will know the result.

Nah, it's OK. I don't want to be calculative over that RM 1k, moreover if I were to max out RM 1k, I need to quickly clear the balance in order for new swipes to be transacted. Then I won't fully enjoy 20-days free interest period.

Though I already stopped using this card after I got my VS in 2016. Once my AF is not waived, I will shift back to this card. My groceries expenses have been so much lower these days, only use it to reload TnG maybe two months once or sometimes three months.

I've to say that I can see from this thread alone that majority got their Ikhwan by splitting from conventional CL.

Even myself got by splitting from conventional CL.

As this has been discussed so many times before, it's like been hard-coded into my brain and I even straight advise my friends to just split CL if want to apply for Ikhwan.

But there are people who get Ikhwan through new application.

Yes. Hence I only suggested to use split method only if it is rejected.

Most people usually already had at least 1 conventional credit card from Maybank - usually the Maybank 2 cards. So to apply this Ikhwan card, I guess the only way is to split the CL sweat.gif

Imagine other people that doesn't surf lowyat forum...I wonder if they knew how to get the card hmm.gif

One thing that I'm really curious about this card is, why is it so hard to apply via new/fresh application?

I mean, I've been following this thread for quite some time now and the rejection rate is pretty high comparing to other cards. Even my friends have had hard time getting this card not to mention my personal experience biggrin.gif

I can see that most are actually existing card holders with MBB but yet still rejected. Some even earn quite a lot and conventional card CL not very high yet rejected. The best part is, I believe some even never had any outstanding with any CC (clean record even after using CC for years) but still rejected.

I don't really care about this actually tbh but it's really interesting to have some insights I mean like is it because it's islamic CC or simply because MBB is just stringent for this card...
