Hey guys, I tried to apply for the Islamic Petronas credit card via the M2U but after 2 weeks there's no SMS of approval or rejection...so I went ahead and did another application.

Currently holding Maybank 2 cards and Maybank Barcelona Signature. Too much Maybank cards so I couldn't get the Islamic Petronas card?

Thought of checking here first before I call the customer service.

My card application got rejected cause my ikhwan account has used up my credit limit as per income. Had to reduce it then apply for conventional account for maybank 2 cards. So yours maybe the same case.
*
How did you know you got rejected ya? I didn't get any call, any email or any SMS hmm.gif What's the credit limit as per income? I just noticed they top up the credit limit of my previous 2 cards and shared all my 3 cards to the same credit limit hmm.gif

EDIT: Just got an email from Maybank saying my application was unsuccessful. I guess it's due to this credit limit issue. How to resolve it ya? I need to go to the branch?

Weird that I only got this rejection email after I reapplied again today. Didn't get any rejection email when I applied for it last 2 weeks...maybe it was because I applied together with Barcelona Signature hmm.gif

Usually 3X income for the credit limit. And i got notification via sms. You may want to contact the call centre to know the actual reason. All i know is my islamic account for ikhwan is already at maximum allowable limit. And to apply for conventional, I have to reduce the islamic account to make way for it.
*
Ahh I see. Maybe I'll visit the branch in sunway pyramid and reduce the credit limit of my conventional card to make way for the Islamic card.

Suggest u split your conventional credit limit to make easier way for ikhwan to approve. No problem to hold how many MBB cards, I have both MWC, Barcelona vs, Ikhwan master n ikhwan petronas too.
*
Can split to any ratio I like? Example 70 for conventional and 30 for Islamic.

Shit, after I lowered down my credit limit by 30% for my conventional card, applied Ikhwan Petronas again and still got rejected. Why ah?

No issue with my credit record as I just got my Barcelona Signature last month. Previously was suspecting credit limit too high so cannot get another Maybank credit card so I lowered it and applied again, still cannot get ><

I think you got it wrong and now buta2 your MBB CL is lowered and MBB doesn't give big leap in term of CL, you will need to apply again next time. doh.gif
As what we suggested and also posted in post #2, you need to split CL from your existing CL. That means your Ikhwan is not approved with any limit, it's taken from your conventional limit.
*
Oh is it? I don't mind getting my CL lowered...can't really use that much.

Can you elaborate more on "split CL from your existing CL"? I know it should pretty self explanatory and I did read the first page but still couldn't understand. I can't seem to differentiate it with lowering down my CL.

QUOTE
Ways to get Ikhwan MasterCard:
I) Apply like normal applications
II) If method I fails, then ask to split limit from your existing conventional credit limit to Islamic credit limit.
III) If method II still fails, convert your existing Maybank card to Ikhwan.

Yes, email is acceptable for CL split request. I got mine via email too.
This is the email address: mbbcardservices@maybank.com.my

Example, let's say my current conventional credit card CL is 10k. I lowered it down to 5k. So I have 5k more for Ikhwan. It does not work that way?

So what happens to the 10k CL if I split it? Can split to any amount?

In that case, how should I split the CL? I went to the Maybank branch in Sunway and told them my issue but they never suggested splitting CL...so I didn't know there's a difference sweat.gif

For e.g., you have 10k limit and your Ikhwan card just got rejected, email to MBB telling them you got rejected recently. You want them to reconsider again and you are willing to split 2k from conventional to this Islamic card. So once they approve you, you will get 8k on conventional and 2k in Islamic.
*
Thanks for the advice! I just sent them an email and see how it goes laugh.gif

And the effective cash rebate is not even 10%. Plus the capped is much lower. Anyway, since this is a Maybank credit card thread...we should stick back to the topic haha sweat.gif

When you sent? They reply email quite slow. Need after 1-2days.
They reply saying that will forward to relevant department for processing.
Then you shall wait around 5 days like that will know the result.

Just sent it today after getting advice from fruitie haha. Will see how it goes in the coming days.

I've to say that I can see from this thread alone that majority got their Ikhwan by splitting from conventional CL.

Even myself got by splitting from conventional CL.

As this has been discussed so many times before, it's like been hard-coded into my brain and I even straight advise my friends to just split CL if want to apply for Ikhwan.

But there are people who get Ikhwan through new application.
*
Most people usually already had at least 1 conventional credit card from Maybank - usually the Maybank 2 cards. So to apply this Ikhwan card, I guess the only way is to split the CL sweat.gif

Imagine other people that doesn't surf lowyat forum...I wonder if they knew how to get the card hmm.gif

For my case, I applied Ikhwan 1st then only apply for FCB VS card just after 2 week. Well, of course Maybank rejected because I already owned Islamic card and I should wait another 3 months only can apply for the conventional card. So I called to customer services and that guy suggested me to apply thru email (attached all documents again) and in that email wrote that allow to split the credit limit. Finally, Maybank approved my application and now I got Ikhwan and conventional card within 2 months.
*
Well, just received an email saying they will forward my case to the proper channel..I wonder how long I need to wait next..

After I got an SMS saying my application for Petronas Ikhwan credit card has been rejected, I dropped them an email asking them to reconsider my application by splitting my credit limit from conventional to islamic.

I've only refueling at Petronas during the weekend to take advantage of the 8% weekend cashback.
Easily safe RM30-40/month

QUOTE(suadrif @ Jun 20 2018, 10:03 AM)
i've read somewhere that u can use this method:

1. Purchase RM100 Petronas Reloadable Gift Card from Lazada Online. Some credit card can give u cashback 5%. Actual pay is RM95/actual value is RM100.

2. Reload another RM100 for the Petronas Reloadable Gift Card at any Petronas station using Petronas Ikhwan during weekend to get 8% cashback. Actual pay is RM92 / actual value is RM100.

3. Free to use the Petronas Reloadable Gift Card at anytime during weekday or weekend since u already have RM200 inside but actual u pay is only RM187 (around 6.5% cashback).

4. Reload again in every weekend in the future to continue get 8% cashback, but u can use the card anytime during weekday or weekend. (8% cashback)
is this method really works?
anyone can confirm item #2? or actually reload is only by cash?
*
Can work but you still need to reload at a specific petrol station only since most of them does not accept credit card reload. I think the best way is to reload a month's petrol worth into the reload card so you won't have to keep going to that specific petrol station to reload again.
