Seems like Shopee MY re-enable the support for VISA card , but only local card and not foreign card

did they allow you to use those foreign cards directly (ie. link them in Shopee app and paying with them)?

wondering if this is due to Apple Pay cut into their margins too much for foreign cards, or if their acquirer just charges too much to process them in the first place

Actually, I have always been successful in making payments on Shopee with Apple Pay using my Maybank Visa credit card and I use it at least once a month.

But they should never block foreign cards via the direct method , only Apple Pay

Glad Apple Pay is back on Shopee, unfortunately works only on the app not desktop... such a hassle 😙

AP integrated into ur iphone, desktop how to detect?

You can provided if you are on a Mac. Best possible if on MacBook with Touch ID.

Edit: Oh and yes, of course you have to own an iPhone/Apple Watch at the same time in order to get Apple Pay activated. AP on Mac mostly just act as the auxiliary one in simpler terms.

7 Months has passed since Apple Pay launched last August and we currently have 4 bank partners offering Apple Pay.

Does anyone has any information to hint on the Apple Pay launch plans for the following banks?
1. UOB/Citi Malaysia (Offers Apple in SG)
2. OCBC Malaysia (Offers Apple Pay in SG)
3. Hong Leong Bank (Offers Google Pay in MY)
4. Public Bank (Offers Google Pay in MY)
5. RHB Bank (Offers Samsung Pay in MY)

Was hoping that the adoption of Apple Pay among banks in Malaysia would be much faster than the current rate.

I tried to pay parking fee of RM2 at 1U mall on Thursday using Apple Pay via my Apple Watch and it got through!

There are sayings that PBB would be the last in the list to adopt AP but who knows?
