Just a heads up on the iOS update to push AP function, just updated to 16 PB2 like 2 hours ago and still nothing, if I had to guess it’ll probably be a microcode OTA that enables it for phones that has the Malaysia region settings as alluded to before.

Maybe you are right on there’s maybe a OTA for AP launch but they can even do it without the OTA if they really want it.

iinm, Apple do not update their apps through App Store. They update through General -> Software Updates (normal phone update). The app is in the App Store for the purpose of you to redownload the app back when you need/after you've deleted the app on your phone.

ahh that makes sense, but wouldn't software update mean it will be 15.6.1 already?

Edit : Just read your previous comments, maybe they'll do one without an OS version update, don't think just enable AP will warrant another iOS version.

If I remember correctly, I think they always push a x.x.x update for an AP release with some bug misc bug fixes. For instance

iOS 15.x.x
1) Apple Pay is now available in X
2) Fixed bugs

Apple Cash can’t be available outside of the US that easily, firstly, Apple Cash card is provided by Green Dot bank, and without SSN verification it’s useless. And if apple wants to push Apple Cash in other countries other than US, they’ll have to partner with other banks in other countries. Even in Canada Apple Cash isn’t available, so idk what this guy was smoking to expect Apple Cash to be available in Malaysia. Anyone can activate Apple Cash in the wallet app by switching region to the US and switching back to any other region afterwards.

This, and if they do what about those on iOS 16 PB, would they get the same thing?

I’m currently on 16 PB 2, so if AP is really coming in the next two weeks, another PB update for the MY region seems unlikely..

Wouldn't Apple announce it and list all the participating banks first and only then the banks will start rolling out notifications through mobile banking apps?
