Then you may op for Eastar Jet or Jeju Air. Korean Air will be slightly expensive even after promotion. The different is Korea Air got 20KG baggage.
*
Eh Eastar Jet and Jeju Air has no luggage included? I need to bring along my 15kg luggage also haha.

Just realized that my SK trip coincides with Chuseok festival (4-Oct-17). Any recommendations on what to do on Chuseok day?

I am thinking of visiting
1. Everland
or
2. Nami Island/Petite France

Anyone here who has the experience of going to SK on Chuseok day? Which one will be less crowded?
*
wish you good luck laugh.gif . very crowded and packed if you plan to go both of this places.. if need to choose.. then go for nami

I never had any interest in anything korean but after watching some of their historical/other dramas I now have an interest in korean history, language (LOL which I used to detest. That's why the saying - to know is to love),food and culture.

I especially like the korean culture of bowing, respect for elders and superiors and esp'ly for parents/grandparents etc (I don't know if it's only in the movies but I certainly do not like the subservient attitude of employees toward the "chaebols" and wanna-bees who happen to sit in some positions of power). I know that's bcs they follow the teachings of confucius but chinese malaysians have abandoned such teachings, esp'ly among the gen Y people (maybe it's only in the movies and most of their gen Y are as moh tai moh sai as ours LOL). I was pleasantly surprised they have formal/informal language and hierarchy at work (that's why my son treasures so much his 6 months' internship in seoul),at school and institutions of learning compared to malaysia where the culture is moh tai moh sai, anything goes!

I'm thinking of visiting for a week in October (not too long bcs can get homesick and worn out by things foreign haha) and would be grateful for the following info:-

1) should I go in early, mid or late october? I'm free to go anytime,

2) what are the places I must not miss?

3) what are the korean stuff I must experience?

4) what korean dishes must I eat in order to really savour real korean food?

5) what is the exchange rate for RM1?

and most important of all

6) what tour/travel companies in the klang valley offer the best deals? I hate those that force us to waste time at shops when we don't want to buy and carry stuff around like stupid.

My objective is to see, experience,do,eat and just buy home the very least.

My heartfelt thanks in advance for whatever useful info provided by any helpful sifus here.

Epilogue : it's sad to note that nobody wants to help. I've found out the answer to #5 but google isn't very accurate with my other questions. I need people who know from experience. It looks like there are very helpful people on other LYN forums but not here. Thanks anyway. I'll find my own way.

i think not nobody help as most of your questions is quite general n can be easily found in google and some can be found in the first page.. since you mentioned your son have internship in seoul so i guess you will roughly get an idea on some of the question that you ask.. hmm.gif

to your questions:

1. i don't know your intention of why you will ask whether to go early, mid or late oct. is there any special occasions or event or season you prefer? you didn't mentioned. different people have different preferences hence we don't know what your liking if you didn't tell.

2,3 & 6. you can easily find the answer in the first page unless you tell us some places that you have in mind.. if you are first timer to korea, generally most of the common attractions you will not want to miss out. to get the tour agency best deal you need to survey yourself and compare among those travel agency. how would we know as we are not working there? also most of us here opt for free and easy and it's more flexible tongue.gif

4. you can try samgyetang, korea hansik, bbq, street food, naengmyeon, bibimbap, etc too many to be list

5. this question you shouldn't ask in forum. we don't know as we are not into this. the rate change everyday. for the best and accurate rate you need to find it yourself at those money exchange website or currency exchange shop

you must survey first or at least have a rough idea on where to go, how many days, etc.. from there, i believe sifu's or other forumer's here can help you out.. icon_rolleyes.gif

7AM - 3AM usually for Dongdaemun. Namdaemun now a days is almost like 24 hours, they don't actually have an "official" time, no one follows it.

That said, understand that there are stores that open and close at their own designated time. It's impossible to list out each store's business hours.

Eh guys, for renting a car in Jeju Island via Lotte rent a car, the international driving licence needs to be at least 1 year prior to the rental date?

"The international driving permit must
have been issued at least one (1) year
prior to the rental date"

EDIT: Dropped them an email and they said it's okay if the international driving permit is less than a year.

I would advise not going to those places during Chuseok..
You are going on Chuseok day?

Usually long holidays the city will be quite empty but tourists spots outside of Seoul will be hell.

I am leaning towards Travel Recommends since it's the cheapest among the 3 choices. Can I get it in KLIA 2? I saw that they have a booth there but not sure they still have it or not now.
